Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Love the derby. Being a night game makes it even better. Hope it's as full throttle as some of the past ones. Barkley was excellent v Arsenal and whatever you think about him he's a really good player - but Gueye is equally one to look out for. He can really boss a midfield so we need to nullify both of them and win the midfield battle early on. Because of that I'd love to see Can, Hendo and Wijnaldum together with Origi dropped.

Origi could do a back flip off his chest and it still wouldnt be as bad....

Another red card (but not for an assault injuring someone) and a 4-0 thumping for his team again will do me.

Unlikely to be that pleasurable though. Been a while since we got a late winner, hasn't it? I don't think it's happened this season that we've had an injury time winner (not for us anyhow), so tonight would be good for it.

In a season where we're challenging at the business end of the table, six early winners would do me just as nicely. :)

Our latest winning goal this season is Milner's pen v Swansea (1-2, goal in 84')

Our last injury time winner came against Dortmund. In the league it was, Lallana v Norwich (April and January respectively).

    It has been a while!

As well as that, they only have one away game in that period.

    In fcuking London.

Well whenever we seem to have a easy run of fixtures and someone posts up a "we should get 12 points from our next 4 games" post..it goes tits up

So let's fckin do it the hard way so

I'm not one for advocating injuries or anything, but if Funes Mori's career ended tonight I wouldn't be too displeased.

Chelsea, top of the league and also going to be the most 'rested' team over the Christmas run in.

Southampton shafted. Ourselves not much better.

Ye I saw that big loss.

Klavan is a decent player. Wouldn't be confident of Lovren up against Lukaku if he is in form.

I expect alot of long balls from Everton.

    Big game for midfield.

They need to control things - strangle the life out of them.
Then it's up to Firmino getting his **** together or Dick Orgi and Llama carrying on as they have been.

Gueye's been immense for them this season apparently. Will have to work harder than ever to win the midfield battle tonight. No Matip automatically makes me hope we've got our shooting boots on. Perfect night for Firmino to find form again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

Wouldn't be too worried about dominating midfield. Gueye is decent. Barry & McCarthy are poor.
I think we will have majority of possession just need to cut out individual errors at the back.

Nah I'll just bow out of that convo instead. Was a pointless conversation anyway. So I just unexpectedly got finished early from work so can actually watch the match after missing the last two due to work. I am excite! :D Plus I need at least at least 12 points from Firmino and Origi to win my head to head game in FF! Alot at stake.:pac:

To be able to bring on Can and Sturridge is a big plus, missed Can's driving runs in the last few games.

Horrible stamp on Origi's leg that put him out for a good while, got sent off and left the pitch celebrating like he'd just won the match.

Absolute dirtbag challenge and then did the badge kissing thing afterwards.

And Origi was in fine form at the time too. That disgusting rubbish did a lot to cost us the Europa League final for me.

He was 5 in 5 after scoring in that game, much like he is at the moment, hopefully he doesn't suffer another setback like that today.

I like the way you'd be 99.9% sure none of our players would ever do that to a player. We could be a bit tougher sometimes but we play the game in the spirit it should be played.

Suarez used only have an ole nibble for the craic :pac:

I've seen some of ours make poor tackles. What really galls me about that challenge was his posturing afterwards. Hateful player.

Nice if we'd put in a decent tackle occasionally here though. Not so far.

Henderson needs to speed it up. Taking too long and too many touches on the ball.

Can someone please answer this for me. Whatis the definition of a 'take-on' in football? It's a term I never heard of before a few years ago and had assumed it meant one thing but I'm clearly not right. Someone please enlighten me, the dinosaur that I am.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,648 ✭✭✭mav79

This is exactly the type of game that really show up our deficiencies in midfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Pity Barry wasn't on at the start, wouldn't have lasted the opening 20 minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Firmino should be scoring there but credit to him he's not hiding.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

That's what i love about Bobby he never hides and is always working hard for the team even went his touch has abandoned him.
