Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Mane is the man we are going to miss him next month.

That mane lad... Some turn of pace.

Shows the value of sturridge. Especially when coutinho is out. Vital contribution

Such a sweet 3 points there. I said earlier about not having an injury time winner this season, sweet time for it.

Oh my god. Did anyone see that replay of the foul on mane? He almost bent in double backwards. It was sickening!

Got up then and jogged off, not a bother on him. Runs in and scores the winner 15 mins later.

Jizz everywhere. Everton are bad. And were filth in that.

An important goal scored tonight :)

37 points after 17 games, almost 2.2 ppg.

A 2nd successive clean sheet for Simon Mig' too so we shouldn't be seeing Karius anytime soon.

That goal has us 7 pts from the last 4 games, the 1st of that 4 being the collapse at Bournemouth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Massive win. Chelsea are going to win their next two and we had to keep in touch.

Keeps us 7 clear of utd as well.

God I hope Cout is back soon.

It was all the talk of being due a late winner recently :D

Love Mané and Gini, 2 great signings

Vital win. Great response from the 2 results against West Ham & Bournemouth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,644 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Look, not a great performance but 3 points. Midfield limitations shown up as was Origi up front, but dug the win out which was all that matters.
Dean let Everton try to kick their way to a point, but 'show me the Mane' did it again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

    That was lovely.

Its up there with Gary Mac's free-kick.

Away Derby victory. 3 points. No injuries. Back to back clean sheets.

    Get the fúck in !!!!!!

We looked markedly worse when Sturridge and Can came on.
They didn't look even remotely ready for this kind of game. Barely looked like footballers.

We never really looked like scoring though, and that was the gamble.
See what happens if Sturridge can get an inch for a shot.

Great to see it pay off.

We dominated bar the bit at the start where Everton spunked all their effort running around for 20 minutes.
They played maybe 4 seconds of football in a game 100 minutes long. They put effort in but that's about all you can say. Appalling quality of footballer.
They've focused all the quality of their team into full back and unsurprisingly, that's not a winning formula.
Boot it to Lukaku. That's about the sum-total of their tactics.

Barkely's tackle was fairly horrible and he should've been sent off twice. Very lucky that Henderson walked away from that.

Great win to start getting some momentum in a stupidly packed fixture list.
Great to have a 9 game rest after that.

Can someone please answer this for me. Whatis the definition of a 'take-on' in football? It's a term I never heard of before a few years ago and had assumed it meant one thing but I'm clearly not right. Someone please enlighten me, the dinosaur that I am.

I'd assume its when you recieve a ball or pass on the move. If yiu carry it with you without breaking your stride, you took it on well.

3 more points! Dramatic end to the tense derby. Liverpool supporters still singing! @lfc holding strong at second. #cleansheet

A game almost complete devoid of quality, and yet a bit of a thriller!

Everton deserved nothing out of that game after kicking lumps out of us for 90 mins, delighted with the win, Mane was excellent throughout.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

I don't know who I should be most thankful for; Mane for the finish, Sturridge for setting it up, or Robles for diving in slow motion.

Credit to the lads they pushed and pushed waiting for that one little brainfart we knew would come, our own brainfarts were fairly hairy also... :)

That's what i love about Bobby he never hides and is always working hard for the team even went his touch has abandoned him.

I think he grew into the game.

Hopefully he can start at Stoke like he finished there.
    We need him back.

To be fair has he had to make a single save in the last two games!?

He made a very good save in the Boro match

Karius faced about the same amount of shots per game as well, tbh. Tonight he had feck all to do, granted.

Strong save near post to the top corner against Boro as well. Was actually a difficult enough one.

Nice to see just how superior we are to Everton these days.

They out-pressed us 1st half but had zero quality. Once we got on top of them energy-wise, we looked likely to rip them up. However, they started kicking lumps out of us, their keeper's injury wasted time, and our play wasn't quite what it was at the start of the half.

We looked the far better team, and deserving of our position in the table.

Also, that is the absolute best way to win a match. It could give us a nice momentum boost.

2 clean sheets in a row too.

    Happy Christmas.

He's one of our toughest players and doesn't waste the chance to take a proper yellow either. We're gonna miss him.

Gary said nothing, just stood there.

Big win that. Everton tried to make it a fight and it was for the first 30 minutes but once they ran out of steam there was only one side playing football. Must say felt quite jealous of the away fans there. Winning the derby at Goodison 4 minutes into added time. Must be some feeling when you're there.

Mane is such a strange human.

I know people are a torso and some legs and there isn't really anything in the middle, but it's like Mane is more of that than other people.

It's like both his legs and his body are out of proportion with each other but they're both bigger than each other - like he manages to cram more body into a smaller space.

Also he doesn't accelerate. He's not moving and then he's immediately 10 yards away without bothering to cross the space in between.

    Job done!

Jaysus Everton were worse than Boro in the second half.

Well done Sturridge for taking it on.
