If you have an accident as a mechanic and you're off work for a year recovering, you don't lose your right to earn a living at it.
Taxi-driving is a skillset - it takes years to know it all and spout bollocks with the best of them.

Didn't take Joe years. And he makes more than any taxi driver.

You clown, I can't sell on my job, and neither should you be able to. Are you going to vet people you want to sell your licence to?

Not much of a taxi driver if he thinks Waterford is only 13 miles from Kilkenny.

What are the chances, eh? Joe mentions attacks on a taxi driver, only to find that his caller has a story about precisely that!

He drops the Newstalk name frequently, I suspect he was told to do so from Noel to keep RTE on their toes when it comes to fees and also to make flirty advances to Dinny O'B to come with a big fat cheque buke and make him an offer he can't refuse a la Pat Kinny so to speak.

I work in the IFSC, our garage backs on to Sherriff Street Lower. Every day there is a queue of taxis waiting all the way around the block to get into the rank in front of Connolly. There are simply too many of them

Had a Meriva as a rental one year, bootspace is pretty ****, and was very uncomfortable to drive. They were doing him a favour.

Surely this guy knew the criteria before he bought the fecking thing?????? Next caller please

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,869 ✭✭✭PeterTheNinth

He should have looked up the list of vehicles first, lets be fair. He can't just buy whatever vehicle he wants to drive himself.

Pfft. Again, facts. WHOY should a taxi driver have to obey the rules?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

Loosing it after 1 year is fair enough (outside of exceptional circumstances), if you have a licence but aren't using it then that's 1 less taxi on the road.

Solution, even number licence numbers work every 2nd day, odd numbers work the rest.
