Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Southampton vs Liverpool 3pm Sky Sports 5

Lallana looks to be out and Coutinho is a doubt for Liverpool who have not lost in any competition since their last Saturday 3pm game on sky sports 5 Ireland in August against Burnley.

Southampton have had mixed results lately with the defeat to Hull last time being a low point they will want to put right.

If Liverpool recapture their form from before the break they should win to stay top, but this is a tough game. Last season the game should have been over at half time but Liverpool let a 2 goal lead go to lose 3-2 but at least Mane who changed the game plays for them now.

Really can't see us keeping a clean sheet against S'ton. They'll have a go and we'll have a go.

Clyne and more so Milner will be caught too far up the pitch a few times and we don't have a top class keeper to bail them out. Lovren will probably be back in the starting 11 and there's a mistake or two in him even when playing well.

Add in the usual chance of conceding and us keeping a clean sheet is 1 in 6 or 7 territory IMO.

Southampton cant seem to take their chances and I don't they'll get many today.

Game is set up for Sturridge and if he gets the nod then I expect him to score and pool to win 1 or 2 nil.

Looks a good team. Great to have decent back up.

A few years ago Poulsen would have been our back up......shudder!

I hope Coutinho is 100% and not a risk.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Liverpool still top of the table as rivals for 4th drop points.

I'd risk him at 90% if it was a tiredness thing. Especially with Lallana definitely out, With Sunderland up next I'd rather he get a rest there....unless of course there is a slight chance of injury, then I doubt he'd be risked if that was the case.

Can making his 100th appearance for Liverpool today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Win today and we're 10 points ahead of Utd even though they are much better than us in every way including having better fans.

Already? That seemed to come around fast. He's a good lad.

Neither. At my parents house though so more noisy than usual, plus a smaller bed means I'm awake early.

Yes, do you have an Irish Sky subscription?

That block from Bobby could set a nice tone to this match.

Yeah got it there, I have about 8 SS5 channels on my IPTV, about 6 of them have WWE on SS5 also....

Why boo Lovren and not Mane or Clyne?

That's the UK SS5. They can't show 3pm games in the UK.

Tactical booing perhaps, get Lovren's head melted and he's likely to make a mistake.

Redmond......it was a foul but not sure what the backflips were about

Henderson and Can never make tackles

Sturridge gets slated for that :pac:
    Fine for CMs though :D

To be fair they're both more inclined to stay on their feet, Alonso esque :) Without the passing.

Coutinho rides three fouls, breaks through, then gets called back for a free kick.

    Ref having a howler

Definite yellow for tackle on Wijnaldum

I remember there being some acrimony when Lovren was trying to leave Southampton, probably that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Firmino just got a foul against him for doing exactly what happened to him moments before in the same corner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Firmino get push in back no foul, he does same , foul .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Southampton making this very difficult, closing down very fast.

    Is Origi on the bench?

This is a game for him.

Midfielder needs to step up, games needs something more than the obvious .
