Nursing dcu vs midwifery Nuig

Had my heart set on midwifery in Galway for a long time but after going to the dcu open day I fell in love with the college. Only problem is dcu don't offer midwifery which means doing general nursing in dcu and having to do nursing for a year before applying for a 18 month postgraduate course in midwifery. Haven't been to Nuig open day so maybe there college is just as good as dcu. Is it worth doing General nursin first And anybody who was at the Nuig open day or done midwifery there what is it like?
