Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A big "Oooooohhhhh" followed by a :( so close by Mata.

Should have no complaint if that was given.....however soft the contact was.

The point is, Man U shouldn't be in the position they are in and that comes down to managerial inadequacies

what are you raving on about

Valencia is beyond a joke at this stage.

If he stayed on his feet Monreal was on the ground and he'd have a free shot.

His first reaction is to dive!

Don't think it was a peno at all on second look

    No chance a pen

Peno all day long, Monreal knew Valencia was in so stuck out the arm to impede him.

Dry your eyes. He was fouled, arm and leg.

The arm impedes nothing though, he goes down all by himself.

that was a definite penalty live...absolute dive on replay, excellent decision.

All on Sanchez for Arsenal going forward. Ozil, Ramsey anonymous.

So far Neville has said Herrera dived when he didn't. Walcott didn't dive when he did, and that a blatant penalty wasn't. Is he on something today?
Might have been on the rip with Wayne. :D

    Nowhere near a peno.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Big talking point anyway, first half hasnt really got going other than that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,754 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

    Eventually United have to score.

Ramsey has been woeful....really really poor

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,774 ✭✭✭jimmytwotimes 2013

Rojo must be near 100% pass completion to arsenal players

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

Ramsey is a shambles, well done Cech

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Ramsey not on his game at all today. Very careless and clumsy.

Slowed down his run, how he goes down is irrelevant. Should have been a peno.

Neville is terrible on United games

Valencia is looking back at the ref looking for the pen before he even fully hits the turf. Clear as day dive or else Monreal is Popeye.

    Very risky from Ramsey.

Man U should be better than this. I'm not raving, i hope you's lose, but what is Mourinho achieving here?

If, as I said, he goes down "all by himself" it's a dive, hardly irrelevant.

Mata held on too long, and lost it, as everyone watching was think 'pass, pass, pass...'.

    poor game

Most players dive when they have been fouled to increase the dramatics. It is not how they go down that wins them a free kick/peno..it's if they have been fouled before they hit the ground...surely you already know this.

United need a manager who knows how to win CL.s, Premier Leagues, trophies.
    Clearly Mourinho doesn't qualify...

United are not playing bad today.

Think its been a decent game tbh......lack of real quality chances and Arsenal have done very little up top though.....set up for a good 2nd half

    "all by himself"

I will say no more, as you clearly aren't getting this bit.

Very poor stuff in that first half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

United clearly the better side in that half, we haven't done much going forward.

So far, a match to cure insomnia.

Lacking the killer blow on these shots at Arsenal goal, Blind on for Darmian.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,754 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

United clearly better in the first half, but didn't take chances.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

United were getting on top towards half time. Pleased its level at half time. Why is Alexis playing so deep?

  • Need to put the chances away
Ref not helping with poor decisions for the peno and for darmians first yellow

Really? Then why is blatant diving such an issue in the modern game? Most players dive because they want to cheat the ref and the opposition...simple as.

Crikey, so for example do you think a player who barley taps another player on the head with his hand or head forces that player to fall down like he has been shot?

I'm fully aware of what Mourinho has achieved.

Let's see what the legend achieves here today what with Man U needing to win this.

Valencia was pushing on Monreal's back. Excellent refereeing

Arsenal have a few passengers out there today but Ute havent created any clear cut chances, not yet anyway.

Sanchez had one of the best chances after 5mins but didnt make enough of it.

I would say ALL players dive because they want to cheat the ref.
A lot that get fouled make it look more dramatic to enhance the chance of the perpetrator receiving a card.

Have to happy with Sanchez playing so deep.
Cant do much damage from them positions.

'Penalty' incident was a good call, incidental contact and a dive IMHO. Shows how much united have suffered since losing Howard Webb.

How is Ramsey on that Arsenal team, he is brutal. No presence up top for arsenal, better if they had giroud on and leave sanchez on the wing instead of the Welsh wizard

    nope itwas a foul

    leg and arm across him

    Still believe that?

There was no pull, no trip no contact with Valencia's leg.

At the very very worst it was obstruction (for the arm across him) which isn't a penalty anyway.

Plus Valencia's yellow card for the dive.

The amount of ****e pens given this season and we are yet to get any calls. That challenge on Tony is a foul anywhere on the pitch.
