I suffer from quite bad OCD (Genuinely) so would struggle to buy something that may have been used before.

My "Very Good" Moto G4 Plus arrived today. For the life of me I can't see any scratches or anything like that and I would be pedantic.

It's so good you could gift it, can't wait for my Like New UE Boom 2!

i bought an oil filled radiator, it arrived yesterday and tripped the electricity everytime i plugged it in no matter where in the house followed by a bright spark

So i got on to amazon chat and told my story, they said no problem that i could return it and get a full refund but they couldn't print a free post label and i would have to pay for postage and email receipt to get refund when the received the item

Problem there was it weights 15kg and would cost around 60 euro to post it, i asked to speak to a manger who said he could do nothing for me basically

woah.. retry with a different support agent. That's very un-Amazon-like.

One of the items I bought was battery powered and marked "Like New". It's perfectly fine and untouched except the batteries that came with it were dead.

So I got a refund of 25% to go toward new batteries!

yeah they changed their return policy for ireland a couple of months ago. no longer can get the pre-paid labels to send back...have to pay postage yourself and then get refunded...i'm a lot more careful about what i buy from amazon these days as the return process is now just too much of a pain

If an item is faulty they must pay reasonable postage costs and that means sending it back via an post as a registered parcel to avail of the tracking and signature.

I was recently refunded for a microwave bought in warehouse deals that would have cost more to return than it had cost. they will usually say it is a one off refund etc but should either take the hit on the return post or just refund and let you keep the item. That is the cost of doing business and most of the items have post and packing costs added into the price.

I've had to returns items recently and I told them I wasn't doing it, that I expected more customer service than that and they generated the usual An Post returns label for me, just be polite but firm

This. They deal with many people all day that are sometimes rude, but will go out of their way to help people that are polite in my experience.

Works OK for most part. Depends on what you want it for. Only downside to Android TV is the huge lack of apps.

Got my De'Longhi Esam4000.b today the one i got for 155 pound works out 185 euros.

IT was Good it said from the warehouse its brand new and never used as all the plastic is still covering it and notting has been opened. As the bean part still has the leaflet inside it.

Only thing is the post box was shocking they did not even put it into a box at all just shipped a label on the box and that was it quite bad to be fair but cant wait for my break my in work to try it out :).

So my 50inch Hisense tv arrrived and appears in perfect condition. Booted it up and watch a few movies etc was as Happy as as a pig in poo.
Tred to update the firmware and noticed while the screen went dark that there was a small white mark in the center of the screen. like something had bumped off it. No larger than a pencil mark (1/2 cm) and totally invisable during play.

I contacted amazon as I wanted to know what my options were. They said they would simply refund me the total price and have the tv collected or they would offer me a refund of 25% on the price I paid :D
So in the end my 50 inch 4k tv cost me 240 quid lol. (with the little mark obviously)
I didn't even have to get narky with the reps , they offered it to me before I said anything.
    Top notch customer service.

Any way of setting up a camel * 3 alert for stuff just from the amazon warehouse? A lot of dodgy fake prices on the second hand market for that tv.

Is it more or less a sit and wait job till a tv pops up?

So got my Samsung s6 today unlocked , was sold as like new condition. So had a look and the phone is brand new still in sealed box never opened and box in perfect condition. Delighted , have a few more things coming my way so hopefully as good.

I wasn't as lucky. Ordered an s6 'like new' but it arrived today and has clearly been heavily used. Lots of small scratches on the screen but other parts, like the fingerprint scanner and flash, are scratched to bits. The back is fine, so it must have had a cover on for however many months it was being used.

I'd get onto Amazon if they said it was like new then there should not be scratches all over the phone

Agree, and no easy way to report dodgy sellers / listings..
I've contacted them about it, and they say it will be passed on to the relevant people, for what it's worth..

Was that actually from Amazon? Amazon is rife with scammers and has been for a long time, always selling items for 50% retail - TVs, laptops, computers, components, etc.

They're easy to spot, they ask you to contact them before making the purchase in the description of the item.

Seems an absolute bargain for around 200 euro.

Lots of things that look like scams on Amazon lately, when you click on description and it has an email address for you to contact the seller you know to avoid

same as cronos is talking about

Would I not be protected by amazons terms?

They ask you to email for a reason.

Place an order if you wish. It'll be cancelled by the seller because you didn't email if I was to guess.

If you email, they'll try to get you to pay using a different method off-site, again, if I was to guess.

You won't get either laptop for that price though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,509 ✭✭✭ElNino

Any offers where they ask you to email them directly are scams. They will try and trick you into paying them directly instead of through Amazon and you will have no comeback when it goes wrong.

I cant believe that people still come out with these "absolute bargain" comments at this stage in BA.

The old adage..if its too good....etc... applies

Received my microwave this evening from Amazon Warehouse.

In perfect condition apart from the open door button was properly stuck in so the door would not close.
Had to take the cover off to fix but it is now like new (after 10 mins of fiddling).

Thanks OP, warehouse is very addictive!!

Should have been watching this thread instead of the lacklustre deals in the Black Friday / Cyber Monday thread.

Been keeping an eye on this for a while and picked it up for under €20.

Retails at $100 from Brookstone in the US... great for the Christmas!

PS - also picked these well-reviewed earphones for under €7.

Depending when it was made, apple are fixing them if it had a habit of turning itself off, camera lag is a problem on some as well. Mine is going back to Apple in the next few days with both those faults.
Check your warranty with Apple when it arrives.

Ordered 3 things 'very good' items from warehouse this week, one was ok.

The other two were a fiasco; one was ceramic, was unopened in original packaging but even the postman could hear the broken bits rattling around inside. The other was a very badly packed a karaoke machine obviously used, screws missing, microphones were in bits and the accessories were fecked into the box had rattled around and scratched everything. Don't think I'd bother again - prices are higher than ebay and on ebay you usually have pictures of the actual item adn the person packing it has a vested interest in it arriving in one piece. In 16 years buying on ebay, I've never received anything broken or not as described.
