Renew now or wait till new car is bought

    So my car insurance is up the start of December. But I'm looking to buy a new car before then and I'm wondering what's the best way to go about insurance?
    My renewal quote for my car is €1000 which is down on last year. I'll probably be going from 1L to 1.4L and from 2000 to 2004 or 2005 car. Should I renew my insurance on my own car and then transfer to new car or just wait and insure new car when insurance runs out from my car

    Renew and update in janruary as if new quote done in Jan it would not contain any renewal rate you may have secured on the 1000 rate u mentioned
