    Lionel Sanders raced Ironman Arizona in 7:44:29 yesterday (53:45 swim, 4:04:38 bike and 2:42:31 run). Hard to comprehend those times together!

    And what makes it even better is that he was around 20th out of the water, still working on his swim. A good pack of slower swimmers/ very strong bikers helped but even with that it's a seriously fast time. If you have ever read his blog you will see how hard he works. Big fan of the turbo and treadmill too.

    he's also the first to admit that his long hours on the turbo kill him on any techincal course. if the bike course is long and flat on good roads he kills it. any twisty course or bad surface and the lack of handling skills from the turbo means he is way behind.

    course he stays to the turbo due to fear of the roads after an accident, but not sure it's a game plan to copy


    anyway, back to the record, it's bull$hit. Frodeno has the fastest IM. but because the race is run under a different brand the IM corp come out shouting about world records. it's not a record, someone has gone faster but there is a different name on the banner. the tweets after the race claiming a new record were cringeworthy
