Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Low standards in mainstream media

The amount of fowl language in today`s mainstream media is unprecedented by historical standards. In days gone bye, it would have been unthinkable that such filth should be spewed out to the public domain. Indeed, even off the record language and tone was of a higher caliber in the past.

This being the case, it is hardly surprising that non mainstream media is now gaining ground and often undermining the propaganda that the establishment presstitutes try to sell.

The shameless promoting of Hillary Clinton during the US election by the mainstream media is one example of this. Now, in the dying days of the Obama administration, the losers are squealing aloud for retribution against alternative media.

Of course, low standards also exist in alternative media but the fact remains, bad language and propaganda in mainstream media are what is driving the growing popularity of alternative news and entertainment. Perhaps, mainstream media should cut the vulgar language and tell the truth in order to regain the respect they once enjoyed.

By and large in Ireland anyway the mainstream media is out of touch with the people and they censor other views and things. Hiding behind the label 'liberal' they actually are anything but. Certain handpicked individuals are selected by them and forced on us and the same people seem to be popping up everywhere in different roles. No one else gets a look in.

Vulgarity and fowl language are common everywhere in the modern Irish mainstream media. Just look at the Late Late Show and especially that Valentine's special which should be done away with. I remember the first year they had it they were pushing 50 Shades of Grey on us at the same time when a certain architect was in court for taking the contents of that film/book to an extreme level. Having that fraud Katie Hopkins on and paying her to deliberately try and foment controversy is more of it. Anyone who sees through her knows she is not sincere and is saying things as outrageous as possible to try and liven up dead chatshows.

Vulgarity and controversy seem to have replaced talent. The constant diet of closed shop pop and modern country singers being pushed on us in Ireland seems to be the best our media can do. They put on useless programmes made on a shoestring like The Voice of Ireland (aka You're A Star version 3) and Stetsons and Stilettos that showcase drivel performed by overrated and overhyped singers and bands.

Whatever one's views, Hillary Clinton was given biased coverage in the Irish media all the time. They oversimplified things and turned her into some sort of a saint. Clinton was involved in a lot of things that the so-called liberal media do not want to acknowledge. She was involved in a very personalised campaign against Obama in 2008 and she supported the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the event that contributed to the worst recession in years and contributed to chaos and terrorism worldwide ever since.

I think the mainstream Irish media (TV, papers, radio) need to come off their egos and get back in touch with the people. They come across as nasty and stuck up and are not offering 99% of the population what they want. They also know there are gullible people who will follow them no matter what and it is sad that some people cannot think for themselves.
