    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has changed pads on a Mk7 1.6 Tdi? Have changed mine on a mk7 Gti using a few other resources online. Anyone know if all mk7 (tsi, tdi) have the same setup? Or any good links?

Car belongs to family member and I enjoy doing the work that I can, so I said I would go ahead and order the pads this evening, provided that there wont be any surprises or anything beyond my current skillset!

    Thanks in advance,

    John

    Fronts or backs, or both?

Probably makes sense to change both? I haven't sat in it to check if the on board alerts you as to which need attention. Do you know if it does? Or other handy ways to check. I would imagine the fronts wear faster?

Often the fronts are enough as they do wear faster. I suggest start with them and get pads somewhere.
I assume fronts are the same as earlier marks.

When you have the car up on stands you can have a look at the rear pads too and then do them later.

Cheers, will do that. Any opinions on the Ferodo pads? Put 'better' pads into my own, but for a commuter, these should be grand, yeah?
