Time for this patriots defense to step up and get a stop.

    And they do :)

this is a perfect tank job…not too obvious, not too demoralizing

Derek Carr is the next superstar QB without doubt

That will do it. No pocket presence from Fitz and the Jets get a competitive loss. Not the worst thing in the world.

Another unconvincing win from the Pats.

That was an unbelievable throw from Carr to hit Crabtree for the big gain

He's got pretty much everything, yeah. He's fortunate to have that o-line and the rest of the offense around him, but he's really after kicking on another level again this year.

Brady is now joint all time leader with Manning for most NFL career wins (200). But Manning had to play 36 more games than Brady, before he got to the 200 wins.

Another huge win for Oakland. They keep winning these tight games. Fun team to watch.

My God, anyone who stayed up for this game is presumably very glad they did! High drama, serious entertainment, and an unbelievable finish where Kansas came down the field, got a very marginal call for a TD (marginal but correct) and a 2 pointer to level it up. OT now, thankfully (unless the Broncos do something with this 12 seconds still on the clock). Go Chiefs.

Holy ****. That was crazy. Kubiak can shoulder the blame for going for a fg from an absolutely crazy distance leaving the chiefs in a great position to go down the field. But whatever, that was great craic.

Guys just watched that last play with the Ravans and Bengals again. Obviously the rule will be changed or whatever, but is it surprising to anyone that when they did get to Koch in the endzone, that the tackler didn't absolutly smash him.

It would certainly deter coaches from doing it again, if your punter got mangled on a stupid play like this.

Maybe the players didn't know the rule ans thought that they would get the penalty, and the time back on the clock, and didn't want offsetting penalties?

They will probably change the rule alright. But just shows the hypocrisy from Harbaugh after complaining about the Pats using illegal formations (when running legal formations) in 2014.

Just after watching the highlights of the Chiefs Broncos game. Seriously exciting game. Very strange decision to go for a 62 yard FG for the win in OT. Considering how good the Broncos defense can be, surely they should have tried to pin them down in their own half.

Chiefs then get the break with their FG try hitting the upright and just going over.

Matt Prater would have probably made that 62 yard field goal, he holds the record for longest field goal in NFL history at 64. Unfortunately the Broncos let him go after an All Pro season where he made that 64 yarder, because kickers and is currently busy helping the Lions make record breaking numbers of 4th quarter victories.

So... I'm kind of happy about that outcome last night. :o:p

It was a strange game alright from start to finish. I thought a tie would have been a fair result but the Chiefs get lucky in the end after almost throwing it away in the second half.

**Caveat: Didn't stay up to watch the game**.... but looks as if the Broncos offence couldn't move the ball when they needed to, the defense couldn't get a stop when they needed to, and the special teams completely cost them the game with 2 muffed punts, 2 long kickoff returns including a TD on free kick, missed (albeit form 62 yards ) FG.

Regarding tactics at the end, I don't mind the try for three from 62 in Mile High, McManus defintiely has the leg and it was a low percentage chance, but what other options were open to him? You can't just punt the ball at home and settle for the tie, and Denver are behind in tiebreakers within the division. Best have a small chance at the win and hope the Defense can hold for the tie or KC miss a long FG. If I do have a complaint, it's the clock management leadingup to the FG attempt, 2 incomplete passes and a timeout with 1:08 to go? In that situation you want the clock running/force KC to use their timeouts....puzzling. If you know you are willing to try the long FG at least one running play to inch the ball forward, at that distance every yard counts and the clock will keep running also.

There was a decision which annoys me though, when Denver scored their final TD, they should have taken the Seahawks approach from the previous week, and gone for two to make it a two possesion game. The Chiefs would surely have just kicked an extra point to being it to OT in the event they drive the field for a score of their own (which they did)
I suppose it's all great in hindsight, but if you are going to be so aggressive in Overtime, why not be just as aggressive in regulation?

The (taking advantage of the) rule was on show in the Superbowl against the 49ers, no change was forthcoming. Definitely now a good look for the NFL to see a team be rewarded for a deliberate penlty.

An easy solution would be to give the defense the opportunity to decline the penalty and put the time back on the clock (lets say, under two minutes left in each half) or accept the penalty and it's a loss of down and an untimed play with the ball given to the opposing team from the previos LOS.

Hard to know really....how do you differentiate from a genuine holding call on say, a 4th down passing play in a two minute drill....that would be too draconian a punishment in that situation.

Packers/Eagles highlights are worth watching. Rodgers threw some beauts last night.

Great game offensively by the Packers. It didn't look like a great Sunday slate, but the games in Oakland, Philly, Miami and Tampa Bay were very good.
