Credit Union - safe?

With all the dodgy reports on the Rush CU activities in the news recently, I'm considering closing my CU account and putting it into a regular bank savings account.

Am I overreacting?

Somewhat... each CU is its own business... so Rush is completely different from whichever one you have your account with.

That said, there does seem to be some issue with CUs and internal fraud... Finglas had an incident a few years ago.

That said your deposit is guaranteed up to 100k...
