Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DOE due on van in march. Off road since April

Have 3 vans and one Run out of doe in march, drove for another month then parked up. Been told if I go for new doe, I only get a few months then have to redo in march again. Seems silly to me to have to get it done twice in space of 4 moths. Is there no waiver near the actual date instead of having to wait for this daft rule.

No options on that, it was changed to stop the very widespread practice of tax the vehicle, then a month later, get a new DOE, then 11 months later, tax the vehicle for another 12 months, and then effectively skip a test until 11 months later. The ideal scenario would be for a much better ANPR system so that any irregularity with tax, test and insurance is easily picked up, and allow a formal off road declaration that would allow a freeze of the test, though there is a valid argument that there is more chance of failures of critical systems after a vehicle has been laid up for a lengthy period.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

But sure if one was caught on the road, they'd get done with no doe. Surely that would be a deterrent
