Grow a hipster beard, a proper one without looking like Lee Marvin in Paint your wagon, the skinny jeans would be a definite no-go unless you have an Iggy Pop physique.

Jack Nicklaus won the US Masters, his final Major at 46.

There's still hope after 40, please don't give up.

Op, you will start to become increasingly flattered by any kind of mistaken identity that might imply that you are younger.

I went on a family sun holiday when I was about 18 and my dad must have been about 43/44. My dad and I went out earlier than the rest and ended up in this disco bar playing Connect Four at a bar table. One of the bar staff came over, lit a candle and we were thinking "okay whatever". Then later the bar guy said something that implied that we were actually together...ewww! Ha! Seriously though, that was weird but my dad was still delighted that anyone would think he was young enough to go out with me ha! :)

Also happened my brother one night when he was out with my mam! :/:)

I too feel like I'm getting on a bit. Not near the 40 mark but still.

Ahh you know what? I'd rather be old than dead tho.

Its just a number!!! You can do anything and more.

I'm 41 and fitter now than at any point in my life so far.

Don't sit around believing its to late or not right time .

Me too man, 35 and only getting going. Did 5k fun run in 26 minutes recently.
Couldn't have done that at 25.

Meet up with your mates in Odessa for Sunday post hangover brunch & pitchers of cocktails - because they're all tied down with partners & babies :(

4 rounds of strokeplay against the best in the world of professional golf. Most of whom were in their prime.

    It was a magnificent achievement.

Congratulations to you too for your victory in the Irish Judo Masters.

I was only trying to make the point that age doesn't always matter, the will, the dedication, determination and drive can carry many sportsmen past the prime ages of youth.

    Tolerate idiots.
Stay in a bad or abusive relationship.
Worry about what others think of me, particularly those who don't know me.
Eat and drink junk and expect to be healthy. No change from when I was in my twenties or thirties really.
Use getting older as an excuse not to do things you would do when you were 39. or even 29 for that matter, so long as you are in reasonable health.
    Worry about getting older!

I enjoy my life no matter what my age. The key is to have a positive mindset, do some kind of exercise or move your body every day so consistently is the most important word when it comes to keeping and staying fit and healthy in my experience. Set yourself goals to increase your fitness. I feel much fitter now than I did when I was 25. These women are role models and inspirations for me and shows that the only limits we have are the ones we self impose in our mind:

Olympic Gold medalist at 42 in the gruelling sport of cycle racing: http://uk.businessinsider.com/kristin-armstrong-wins-third-straight-olympic-gold-medal-2016-8?r=US&IR=T

This woman is a body building fitness champion at 64 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/this-bikini-rockin-grandma-will-make-your-jaw-drop_us_57337be9e4b012a8b9340497

George Elliot was 40 when she published her first book.

Or the incredible 'iron Nun'-Ironman Triathlon Sister Madonna Buder, the oldest woman to ever complete an Ironman at age 82

I enjoy my work, appreciate my friends and family and stay connected with them, and am in a healthy relationship. Good mental and emotional health is as vital as physical health.

To be honest nothing changed for me when I passed forty. I look younger thank's to genes and protecting my skin from photo ageing, but feeling much younger is all down to me and the choices I've made in life to prioritise my health and wellbeing in all areas.
I'm now a mature student in my forties and on my third career. I'm getting married next year and moving to another country. Don't let age place restrictions on what you can achieve in life.
Forty is not that old now anyway when the average life expectancy is well into the eighties in most developed countries, especially for women :)

Emigrate to either Canada or Australia, I think(?)

    working holiday ones, those went years ago. i pretty sure it's;
Oz - need to apply before you're 31
    NZ - 35 i think
    Can - 35
