Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lallana and Sturridge out for Liverpool, Sunderland have problems of their own in terms of personnel. Liverpool unbeaten in 3 months but Sunderland have won their last 2 so will have a bit of confidence.

Should still be a home win but you can still never be sure. Should be goals anyhow.

    Origi from the start hopefully

No trout pout from sturridge if he was not starting, pity because if he could get off the mark and get a bit of confidence back he could go on a roll.It was probably his best chance this season

Did Sunderland sign a few Daleks and Cybermen on free transfers during the week?

A couple of weeks ago people would have been discussing how many goals between 4 and 8 Liverpool would win by-have things really changed all that much since then? The Brazilians have had a proper rest and together with Mane there's too much there for Sunderland to cope with. Get an early breakthrough and it'll be party time for goal difference, otherwise a facile 2-0 or 3-1.

Hopefully all beachballs have been banned from Anfield for this one.

I can see Liverpool struggling as Moyes has planned to park a double decker in front of goal but a 1-0 would do the job nicely.

Hopefully an early Liverpool goal to open the game up. We were 2 up here last year before blowing it to finish 2 each on the day of the ticket price protest.

Karius, Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner, Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino

Surprised we haven't gone more attacking than that, hopefully we get an early goal and force them to play.

    Yep

Our bench doesn't look the strongest but if Ejaria or Woodburn get on the pitch I'll be happy.

Mignolet, Klavan, Moreno, Lucas, Ejaria, Origi, Woodburn

It's as attacking as we ever go :)
Fluent, interchanging front 3 etc etc.

Lallana is a loss but Wij' defo has a shot or two in him :)

Harry will be excited to see Woodburn on the bench anyhow. If only Mike65 were alive to see this!

If we batter them and are 3 or 4 goals up with 20 mins to go Ejaria or Woodburn could easily come on.

Can't see them getting on before Origi if we need a goal though.

Anything less than a win today will be a really poor result. Chelsea play Spurs later and then next week Chelsea and City play each other while we have Bournemouth, important we get the "easy" points.

If Woodburn gets on it's either 3-0 and 10 to go or 0-3 and 10 to go! :p

3 pts would be great, a pt wouldn't be a disaster.
After 12 games we have 27 pts, a loss would be a poor result but I wouldn't be counting a draw as so in the greater scheme of things.

I am 3 minutes behind so if everyone could wait for me it would be great.

Front 3 dropping off, need to stay up there on the shoulder making runs.

Sunderland coping easily enough in the first 15. Not creating anything

runs into what space? Sunderland crazy deep. breaking from deeper positions is the counter not sitting on a shoulder.

Plenty of crosses from us, poor ones.

PLay it to feet on the shoulder of back line. We are excellent to feet in tight spots.

far too slow to move and release the ball in attack.

Lallana's energy missed again this week.

He is a huge loss to the team when not playing.

It's the only way teams can get anything from us, as Anfield opposition managers would want to be dim or have a very decent team to try anything else.

Sunderland aren't very decent and Moyes isn't dim to be fair.

    Oh Christ. Not Coutinho

this looks like an off day for Coutinho, very slow so far, giving the ball away softly earlier and running the ball into the referee..

Those knocks are horrible. I done my ankle ligaments in a tackle like that.

Countinho pulled there, should of went down, not kick hit foot into defender and injury himself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Countinho out of this, looks like he is injured badly to the foot.
    Could be a break :(

Well this could test our season if Coutinho is out for any length of time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Ironically it was a penalty had he went down, now he is injured as he tried to play on when pulled back.
