Will a diesel automatically fail nct just because engine light is on??
Looked at previous threads here, and seems to be alot of conflicting opinion..
    Anyone know for sure? Thanks

Engine management light onnis not a NCT failure.

For diesels they will refuse to do the test. Think it's page ten on the nct manual

Petrol is OK once it doesn't fail on emissions or anything else.

As above diesel is a fail.
You may be lucky you never know but very doubtful.

It's rare that they actually enforce it but as pointed out it is in the manual.

Interesting.... my diesel Avensis tested 2 times with engine light on. Naas & Fonthill.

And did it pass or fail ????

Wass fully tested in Fonthill & failed on suspension issue. Full retest in Naas 2 months later & passed. Neither centre commented on engine light being on.
