Opening a eurolock when a key is in the slot

I had to break into my own house this morning as I had left a key in the lock on the inside. I'm sure this is some kind of security feature on eurolocks, but I'm wondering if it's possible to buy a lock without this feature (it's not the first time this has happened...) Failing that, if I ground off the tip of the inside…

Failing that, if I ground off the tip of the inside key would it be possible to turn the cylinder from the other side?

In case anyone ends up in the same boat, I discovered that putting a key in from the far side and giving it a bang with the heel of my hand causes the inside key to pop out by a couple of mm and the outer key will then turn in the lock.
