Frustrating from Wright. back to 3-3 has the darts and misses 3 at tops.

    What a checkout!

    157 was clutch.

He always has that bit of magic in the locker when he needs it.

    Wow! Great 157 checkout.

What's all this stupid gesturing from Ando

Seems that the crowd favour Wright

Some sheer quality from Gary in that set

This match should have been over well before now. Anderson knows that and looks to have kicked into gear.

Wright bottling it again. He can't check out big numbers, and is missing key doubles

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭bajer101

    Game over.

    Change the record.

The only time you ever show up here is to post this.

    Just too good.

MVG will need his A game to take Andersons title off him.

Comfortable for Gary in the end. Have to feel for Peter who's had a fine tournament.

Anderson was good but Wright wasn't good enough.

He is right THOUGH, just hasn't got that killer instinct at the mo, he might acquire it down the road like Gary

Could easily have been 6-1. Anderson threw away 2 sets he should have won.
Wright just not up to it at this level on that stage.

Just reinforcing my point. You seem to think that Wright is a contender and that his time will come. It will never come. He hasn't got the concentration needed at the key moments. Can score highly at times and can hit doubles, but hardly does big checkouts. You need that at the business end of this tournament

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,990 ✭✭✭blackcard

Thought the 157 checkout was pivotal, seemed to knock the stuffing out of Snakebite

Agreed but Ando is proof that you can improve in all areas and be world champion.

To say that Wright isn't a contender is just stupid. You always have a solid chance when you're that good.

And now for Barney to do the same...

    He isn't.

He just didn't play his best today.

Why don't you post anything else here only showing up to go on about Wright every few months.

He's the 3rd best player in the world by a fair margin. He just keeps running into MVG in finals. His time for a tv tournament will come, I guarantee it.

    Nonsense.

Wright at his best can beat anyone.
He's been to a final so he is clearly up to this level.

As I've said before Wright can be brittle at key moments.

Felt sorry for him but I never thought he could win the match. High scores and big checkouts but pressurised doubles are his undoing.

If he can rectify that (not sure he can at this stage) he'd be a world beater

Wright is a case of the bridesmaid but never the bride, He's a top player but seems to always fall short near or at the final hurdle.
