HKC Quantum 70 and Wifi Card

I'm looking at the HKC Wifi card for my Q70 central unit as a way to control the alarm and receive notifications from my smartphone.

I have seen contradictory information on the forum about this add-on which holds me off buying it.
In addition to the HKC SecureComm price (7.99€), does it also require a monthly fee?

I see it does for the text service with the GSM card but here it should be only involving my own router and the mobile app, so I don't see what justifies a monthly fee in that case.
Can I purchase and install it myself (I know the procedure and have the installer code) or does it require a on-site intervention?

If there is well a monthly fee, then I would consider moving to a less greedy brand, like Siemens, GSD or Risco. But then, would the HKC wireless sensors be compatible with these brands?

Thank you very much in advance

There is a subscription charge of 60 euro per annum for both gsm-sc and wifi card.
You would receive text alerts if the alarm activates from both gsm-sc and wifi card and that is a reason for the charge.
Hkc don't allow an option for push notifications only with no subscription charge which is not ideal.
You can purchase wifi card and install it yourself and it costs about 125 euro in electrical wholesaler like NEW.
If you change the control panel then the hkc wireless sensors won't work with anything else afaik.

That's what I feared. Thanks for the confirmation John!

Have you already go wireless HKC devices installed?
If so you are looking at a new system from scratch.
GSD would be more reasonable like for like on equipment.
Their apps are free, they are free to use & they have a vastly superior poll time of 5 minutes compared to 8 hours with HKC.
    Definitely worth your while comparing.
