Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rooney is so much better when angry.

Rooney should have played Martial in. He has got a fire in his belly though. If he could just not get sent off, that'd be great!

    High boot? Penalty?

If that happens anywhere else on the field it's a free kick and yellow card minimum.
Because it's in the box it's somehow a different story? Can never understand that. A foul is a foul no matter where it happens. A penalty is awarded because it happens in the box, not because it is a worse foul.
    Penalty all day long

Well a penalty is such a game changer it probably need to be more of a serious foul. I know it doesn't make sense but that just the way football is and I can't see it changing

Is bringing him on with 3 minutes to go in a league cup game not a bigger insult to him than leaving him out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭The_B_Man

What was the massive cheer for Schweinsteiger there? Seems a bit mad to cheer someone who's been dropped and just got his place back. Or did he have some illness or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,948 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Now that would have been quite the goal.

Mkhitaryan for man of the match? Between him and Rooney anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

    That would have been ridiculous.

    Superb game from Micky Ryan

Giving him his first game time this season is going to be hard to spin into a negative, but I applaud the effort.

Hopefully he gets a decent move in January.

I actually found it a bit weird as well. I greatly misjudged how much the match going fans seem to like him.

Why would he be bitter. Utd have paid 2 and half million per touch of the ball for him.

Phil Neville must be one of the worst pundits ever. He can see nothing wrong with this Utd team.

Yes, semis are over two legs. Same as every year.

Surprised they have never changed it with the calls for last games.

"Utd need to put their chances away in the league now as well but they are playing much better than they ever did under Van Gaal and are going in the right direction"

Paraphrasing but that seems a fairly balanced view on the team.

He also said that they are guaranteed top 4 if they keep playing like that whilst not accepting that Utd will face tougher tests in the future than West Ham.

He seemed very confused as to how Man U can put in the same performance against West Ham on Sunday in the league and only draw one all and then put in the same performance against a weakened League Cup West Ham side and beat them four one.

If they keep playing like they have been and finishing chances like we did tonight then the tougher tests will be passed.

Not sure what you find so shocking about that.
