Sorry for the conflicting information you were given when you called. As correctly mentioned in the FAQ's here, it is possible for yourself and your husband to open the Mortgage Saver account however, you wouldn't qualify for the First Time Buyers bonus. Provided you are both resident in ROI, you would be eligible to open the account.
