How much are new recruit wages?
On the guidance for applicants booklet it states "The starting salary for student officers appointed from this competition will be £19,578 (currently under review)." I believe when you become a probationary Constable this increases to £22,896.

Don't forget the NITA which is £3195 paid monthly

I don't think so since they'll need as many serving officers available for public order duties.

When youbinclude the NITA probationer pay is 26k gross

I didn't think they would have an intake then but assuming they do all other months if needs be.

Yea tax free. I think it is now pensionable or part pensionable and because it's over the threshold you'll lose 12% as National insurance contributions

That's nothing special, is it age affected? Can an older person go in at 19k?

I'm assuming they are the letters telling people they aren't successful.

Not it's nothing to do with age. Everyone starts at the same rate and it goes up yearly until 7 years of service. After 7 years it goes up with inflation, and also rank.

Hi everyone. I also submitted an application the other day. I'm new to this and was wondering are there many females on this thread. Just by reading through some posts I'm assuming majority are guys ? I'm quite nervous about apppying for a few reasons but it's my dream job so I guess it's good to have some support from people who are in same position.
