Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have a Lenovo g50-45 it hit the floor and the hard drive has gone kaput.
not a problem untill i discovered the image i originally burnt is corrupt.

I cant asses the recovery partition of the hdd, and as it is out of warranty Lenovo want to charge for new installation discs.

What are my options to get the laptop back up and running

    thanks

You can get a copy of the OS installation media (Win8.1 and Win10 are both available to download) from Micro$oft through the Windows Media creation tool. Then along with and a new HDD or SSD, you simply re-install the OS.

:o oops ... I forgot about the drivers ... these are easily downloadable from Lenovo. Just make sure to select the exact model.

Thanks just 1 more question it was originally win 8.1 upgraded to 10.
Can I do a straight 10 install or do I need to do 8.1 and upgrade to 10

The machine has the Win10 key embedded in it now, so you can go straight to Win10 via the media creation tool.

You absolutely don't need disks for that type of thing these days, make sure you don't pay for anything like that! Windows 10 is fairly good for identifying your hardware and pulling the appropriate drivers during the installation.
