Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Would have been harsh

Would have been a really undeserved way back into the game

Firmino doesnt seem to fit this formation. Has been very quiet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,225 ✭✭✭marklazarcovic

would be a pen for us,so should have been one for them

Clash of knees doesnt cause both feet to come from under you; ref spot on.

If that wasn't a peno, then why wasn't it a yellow for Ake? It must be one or the other, and I still think it was a penalty.

Should've been. He was falling long before brushing off Bobby

i actually dont think were playing all that well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,977 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

It was a stonewall penalty, I don't know how anybody could think any different.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    Looked a dive
    He tried to buy one

Was skipping the tackle, clash of knees meant feet weren't in position. Definite penalty. Wouldn't be deserved cos Pool should be up by 3/4 here.

Yeah on further viewing it definitely looked dodgy alright. A dive and a yellow.

Never a penalty. Good call by the ref.

It wasn't a penalty, it was an excellent decision from the referee. Not a yellow card though, doesn't have to be one or the other.

Seeing a replay of the Origi goal, that's a fabulous finish.

The player didn't fall naturally, he literally jumped into the air and dived, definite contact and if it was given I wouldn't be too upset though. Ref had a perfect view and judged that there wasn't enough contact. I'm inclined to agree.

His path was blocked by a player putting a foot in front of his legs to stop him. That is a penalty all day everyday.

Our set pieces have been brutal

Wijnaldum is very underated. Been superb last few weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,366 ✭✭✭✭8-10

Simon Francis has a woeful first touch. We need to close him quicker and put him under more pressure.

Milner is a better corner taker than Henderson. Would like hin to be on all set pieces.

Firmino doesn't look 100%, bring Woodburn on for him around the 65th min mark.

Harry Arter is looking better than Jack Wilshire in the limited possession they have.

Other than that a very satisfying half. Properly beating them.

Not so sure. Knee to knee contact, he completely missed the ball. Normally that is enough. Many of those have been given. I think we got away with that one. Free soon after to us was soft and the crowd were right to be upset.

    Very comfortable 1st half

Should've been a pen imo. Other than that, been very good and comfortable for Liverpool.

Are you agreeing it's a penalty then?

Lallana for Firmino and maybe give Woodburn another cameo if 3 up with say 15 to go.

Yea, as I said, if it was given I'd have no complaints, I got two views of it, the first was in real time and I thought it was a peno, in slow mo there is real minimum contact but I think there was enough for the peno.

Got to see it there again and I think we got away with it. Minimal contact but enough. If anything, the player play acting has probably cost him.

Great that we haven't missed Matip at all so far. Lucas is boss at centre back.

Pool in cruise control? Could be a very good season for them if they don't pick up too many injuries. No European football this year could be massive!

An awkward clash. not even a tackle.

At vital moment in matches I would like to see a keeper stand and try save the penalty, not dive out of the way of it .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,508 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Deffo pen.

    Have to wake up now.

Keeper is a robot, programmed to act in a certain way for a penalty.
I like a keeper who can think for himself, so see this is a vital time of game and a vital goal if scored, I would like him to do the unexpected and stand for the penalty, he could have saved that with his legs. It was no where near corner.

I'm pretty sure Karius didn't jump out of the way of it. He guessed wrong.
he could have saved that with his legs

    Doubt it
