Need to go to little island on Friday evening. Was caught in congestion at half 3 last Friday (thought would miss the worst of it!!) and took over an hour . Is it any better at 6.30 or will it be demented from Friday afternoon on, and especially in run up to Christmas? Only driving a year and can't get used to these delays, still use push bike when can to avoid these situations

I would say it will only get worse.

It'll be fine at that time.
There was a breakdown in the tunnel (Northbound) on Fri, that's why you have the issue that day.

I've found Friday, with a lot of companies leaving people go earlier around 2pm onwards, is usually grand by the time 5.30 or 6pm comes around.

Unless of course theres an accident but that can cripple the road at any time.
