I think people have jumped the gun here a bit. He announced the classic 9@11 feature is gone, he didn't say he was gone (yet).

Lads this Irish mix tape on Dermot and Dave is fairly epic.

Biggie Smalls Hypnotize on now! Really is outstanding music all day and shows they don’t have too play Ariana Grande every ten minutes!

Might be no harm to let them know on social media, you'd never know it could make them rethink the playlist

Agreed, for once they're actually playing a decent mix of music! "Mix tape" is hardly an original "content creator" idea by any stretch but its a welcome relief from their usual dire playlist. I wonder why nobody has Picture This on their mix tapes...

Don't give the chinless execs ideas.

I think it was someone called Emer who’s connected with the show in some way that started that feature.
Does anyone know where she’s from as she’s got the strangest accent?

I wonder has anyone ever had a word with Esther who does the AA traffic bulletin. The way she absolutely bombs through it (I mean really *really* fast) is so unprofessional, and kinda disrespectful. She sounds like she doesn't give the slightest sh1t.

Oh dear Alison filling in for ian for the rest of the week gift grub was a complete disgrace this morning pure cringe.

I wonder if that’s anything to do with the amount of time they allocate to her?? “Ok, Esther, standby, you’re on for two minutes” and then, just before going “live” - Sorry ‘bout this, you only have one minute now!”??

I prefer Esther to the guy from the north who goes on about "rudes" all the time. :pac:

Paul McLoone just announced that from next week his show will be cut by an hour and starting at 10pm. Ed Smith getting the extra hour.

An equal amount of excellent music. No net gain but at least it's not a loss.

The imro awards are on tonight and muireann looks she's going to them. If she does win the awards she is nominated for can she go and get them ? Or will it be someone from Today Fm that gets it ?

Ray Foley is taking her as his guest. I'd also be very interested to see what happens if she wins.

Yeah I know he is. Fair play to him is all I can say. I hope if she does win it's as awkward as it can be for the today fm top brass there.

Who is Ed? And where has he gone?

At the end of The Last word, before I switch off..they seem to have been announcing for ages, that bla bla bla will be standing in tonight for Eds anthems

He's taking time off after he had heart trouble.

Considering how they throw prizes around like confetti at the IMRO Radio Awards, Today FM didn't have a great haul this year. The one programme from their schedule that won a Gold prize this year (Paul McLoone's show) is shortly getting cut by an hour. It doesn't say a lot for its inane "content creator" model either. Most of its prizes were won by Ian Dempsey/Gift Grub which have been stalwarts of the station for 20+ years now. Dermot and Dave are only on Today FM for 5 years but were doing the same shtick 98FM before that.
