Block Rockin' Beats worked fine in the Friday night slot. Really good show. Listening to Clare Beck's new show now and it's grand - quite similar to Dec's playlist, but a bit less dancey overall. I think it's a good move overall.

Only heard bits of the breakfast show this morning but who was the presenter instead of Ian?

I'm a huge critic of TodayFM but the bad jokes is one of the best segments they do. They're always amazing every week.

Same, I often replay the clip at home to the OH, I'd be cracking myself up, her not so much.

He's hardly being lined up for a show, is he?

He had one before, but it didn't last too long if I remember correctly.

Doubtful. He lives in galway, and iirc, he was complaining about the commute for the weekend show. Doubt he would do a daily other than filling in.

Oh please no. His Sunday afternoon show was dire. Rambling intros and just... Hector playing the character of Hector, I guess.

    Please help me.

I am listening to TLW with Matt, and he has Eamonn Dunphy on his “culture” segment. I am agreeing with Eamonn Dunphy on nearly every choice he’s made. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, tick; Marian Callas, tick; Bob Dylan, tick.

I don’t know what’s happened to me but I am concerned for my future wellbeing

Dunphy, forgot the hyperbole stuff, is one of the good guys.

Yeah, Dunphy is compelling, if he's speaking on any subject I am totally hooked. His weekly podcast show, "The Stand" is excellent by the way.

Another reminder of how god awful so many of the regulars on this show are, Jen Gannon and the likes :(

Ed's show just highlights how good a radio show can be.

Agreed but it is a niche market radio wise.

As with Kelly Anne Byrne who's show is the best in the country for me. Its not for everyone but the selection is just amazing.

    Ian Dempsey - 177,000 (down 2,000)
    Dermot and Dave - 164,000 (up 1,000)
    Fergal D'Arcy - 103,000 (down 6,000)
    Last Word - 148,000 (down 3,000)
    Mairead Ronan - 89,000

Book on book changes in JNLR's for primetime weekday schedule...

Given the Phil Cawley stats there & the previously mentioned Premier League Live ones of 134,000 (maybe I'm leaving out 30,000 there?) then Today FM are throwing the baby out with the bathwater; both those Saturday Shows were performing quite well in comparison to their daytime colleagues.

That looks pretty bad for Mairead. 75,000 is some drop off after Dermot and Dave
