This "slot" is dribble. It seemed an idea to stick Gavin James on, but since then its nobodies and now not a singer.

Mercifully we have the dulcet tones of Cerys Matthews on BBC 6 at that hour. Spittle would make me throw the radio out the window!!

Bbc 6 at the weekend is amazing.

Enjoyed listening to frank grainey on the last word. A lot more relatable I found

Jese I think he's awful dry, he's grand to fill in the odd time but he wouldnt be my cup of tea permanently. Woke an all that MAtt is, at least he gets exercised about things from time to time.

Agree. I think he's a good courts reporter but not really great in the presenter role. That said he's far better suited to it than putting the sports guy in the seat which they've done a few times lately.

Anton Savage used to be very good when he was the first choice filler-in.

I’ve totally given up on TodayFM.

It has turned into dya-remember FM. Lowest common denominator stuff. It has reached 2fm levels of bad.

It’s gutting really. There was a time when Mario was fresh, The D’Arcy show was nearly unmissable, Ray Foley was always a joy and the Last Word & Matt Cooper was razor sharp in term of politics.

And Declan Pierce's block rocking beats

Ed Smith and Dec Pierce are 2 genuine gems on that station. I do like Dermot and Dave too though and Iano in the morning is an institution.

Their afternoon lineup is certainly the weak point imo.

I agree. I switch to Tracy Clifford at 12pm and it’s been a brilliant change

She played a load of dance classics - a bit like block rockin beats

I turned on the radio yesterday and heard Alison Curtis guffawing and telling me that Alison Spittle was up in the next hour.

The saying out of the frying pan and into the fire struck me before I switched over.

OMG! The absolute horror! The humanity! Won't someone think of the children?! Etc...

(Sarcasm not directed at you, ILikeBoats!)

Is Pamela Blake still the producer for the lunchtime show? If so, what is she doing?

This would actually be completely apt given their daytime 'content'.

Needs a clap emoji here and a campaign to push for the change!

So can anyone tell me what D can be D was on dermot and dave? I was sick so wasn't listening last week.

I think it was "dungarees can be divisive".
I could have gotten that last word wrong, something like that anyway

    Yup, that was it.

D&D is becoming the Man U Dave show. We got away with it for years, but Pandora's box has been opened and its a daily occurrence now. Time to find another show to listen to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,074 ✭✭✭TaurenDruid

I don't often criticise Dermot & Dave, but jebus, that "keep laughing while we ask you questions" quiz thing is bloody annoying! What's entertaining about people struggling to hear questions over fake laughter?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,593 ✭✭✭ILikeBoats

Not a fan of it either, and I like D&D.
I think they've given feedback before saying people love it which is why they brought it back. It's a no from me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,911 ✭✭✭Chuck Noland

Love D&D but Noni and the laugh Quiz aren’t great! Still better then the rest on at that time IMO

I like most of the Noni stuff but the summer pints song was weak. But I guess they thought it was good enough to repeat several time after

Liking the new jingles this morning, sounds fresh and energetic.
