They dont really suit the morning slot at all - they were a good laugh in the midday slot, havent really listened to them at all since they moved

Alot of people sayin Dermot and dave dont suit mornings yet they were a huge success when doing breakfast on 98fm, so what has changed ?

Every single day it’s the same old same old.
Having people instagram in silly voices, reading out surveys from Joe.ie, latching on to some obscure survey and incessantly talking about growing up in the 80s and 90s and flogging the death out of all things Irish.
3 hours is way too long- 2 hours is enough and at 12 or 2-not 9 in the morning.

I'd prefer them at 12 myself but I still enjoy the show from 9 - 12. It's easy listening (some might say fluff) so I drift in and out

They are easy listening - great when driving between meetings or whatnot.

Also, what is the craic with Paula MacSweeney? She hasn't been on air for a couple of weeks and the show seems to be now Early Morning with Shelley Gray?

Paula mac is probably taking over lunchtime in the new year, its the kind of boring predicdable thing that happens on yesterday fm

As big as a fan as I am of Paula - I can't see them giving that 'cursed' slot to anyone who doesn't already have a large listener book that will come with them.

Reading the comments on here and other Radio threads on Boards, I can't believe that Waterford Whispers have never gone with a story like - "Radio station changes its line up after Boards.ie user sez it"

Please Today FM don't inflict her on us....she's an awfully annoying version of Louise Duffy...il say they'll go for someone with a name rather than someone who natters on about what celebs have for breakfast and be a loose women type show

Our office radio was switched today over to 2FM after having it on Today FM for years. As a group we just couldn’t take Muireann any longer. She’s just so over the top it’s insufferable.

    And Tracy Clifford isn’t??

Yes- I have to agree! She’s marginally less irritating than Muireann!!!

Have to say, find myself listening to 2fm quite a bit more now, they seem to have a bit more freedom picking the music.

Even right now we have the killers playing which is nice

Everytime I scroll through the stations and hit today fm it's the songs over and over again. It's too much now so I've given up on it.

My reason for flicking stations is to avoid Christmas music, I mean there's Christmas FM so if you want that sort of thing then there you go, not everyone should have to be inflicted with this commercialised crap

Also downloaded Spotify again, can't remember why I didn't use it , does a good job for me !

    Today FM R.I.P

Also, Dara quilty for president.....................................NOT !

I love Today FM and actually like all the presenters (especially Iano, been listening since I was 12 and Today FM just started) but I agree, the music is becoming a little ridiculous. I cant hear them promote the academic, wild youth, hudson taylor anymore, seriously does the radio station own shares in these bands or am I missing something?!

Kodaline on at least 3 times a day. Then the top five crappy hits of the week then at least twice a day from 7.00 - 4.30.

At least if I get stuck late Louise Duffy plays some tunes.

Oh whats it like over on the "other" side?
In all seriousness it would be interesting to see what people have changed to from TodayFM - I find myself listening to Radio Nova more and more - I know they have the Friday Night 80's slot but I am liking Saturday nights with Peter Devlin, he plays a great mix and has some good leads into the music.

She hasn't tweeted in two weeks.

Think she's on holidays or something. Ian and herself mentioned it in the last entertainment slot they did together about a week or so ago.

Maybe she doesn't wanna spoil any surprises that the station management might have lined up?

Nah be surprised. You hardly ever hear her now unless you're up at the crack of dawn, shes slipped down the pecking order in the last year

Didnt Louise Duffy start on the early morning shift too ?? Its plausible that they may try and shoehorn Paula in somewhere. Maybe a double act with Muirean???:eek:*shiver*

Today fm have been a car crash for a while they need a steady reliable hand on the tiller. If I was them I'd just have a music show for the lunchtime and cut back the chat. I'd actually put Steve K in there , he's slick , he's a pro who doesn't sound 12 years old yet the younger listeners like him. Paula Mc is just a female version of Fergal. Sorry .

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 141 ✭✭Never Say Never Again

Paula will be doing lunchtime or else Fergal Darcys show will move to the lunchtime slot and paula will be on 2.30/4.30. #waitandsee

No need to be sorry. I agree with you!!!
But its exactly the type of move Today FM would make, sticking Paula in somewhere between 12-4. Bump up the female day time quota..or maybe they might just give it to Muireann full time. Either way, its mind numbing dribble radio.

Youre probably right but it'll just be another nail in the Todayfm coffin.
