Looking forward to this, shame it has been disrupted by injury so badly.

Really looking forward to makdessi and vannata, has the potential to be a cracker. Vanatta against Ferguson recently was one of my favourite fights the last few years

Pettis never been finished so Max will be winning by decision here I think, I think Cowboy is going to absolutely ruin Brown finish him standing 2 years ago I'd of fancied Brown's chances but hes declining I think.

I really am looking forward to this card. Some exciting fighters on display but i am most looking forward to the korean superboy vs cub swanson. Reckon holloway wins by UD

Can see Max going into beast mode and swarming on Anto, if Pettis can't last 5 rounds at 145, Max will get the tko win imo.

Also hope Brown smashes Cowboy and Vanatta puts on another wild show. Hope Val pulls off the win as well, she could do with one.

Main event should be a cracker here. Really think Holloway can get the finish on Pettis that no else has heretofore.

I'm hoping Holloway and Brown get some nice wins against Pettis/Cerrone.
Also on the Choi bandwagon and want Kennedy to beat Gastelum.

Cant wait for Choi Swanson, think Pettis will beat Holloway and really hope Brown kicks the **** out of Cerrone but I cant see that happening.

Not a bad looking card at all.

I think Vannata is going to be a let down here. Can't possibly match that crazy debut

Why is this for the interim title? Considering Aldo was interim Champion and promoted to "Undisputed" when McGregor was stripped of his title?

When there's a winner here Aldo be back to being very much disputed with the existence of another title holder in his weight class just like when Conor beat Chad. I just hope someone lays this info on to Bruce Buffer.

Main event will be good, but its a really poor card. I suppose its expected after the 205 super card.

Not a bad card by any means bout by bout I can't fault the match ups anyway theres just no spark to get it off the ground, even the last fight night seemed they were advertising 207 and Ronda's return with 2 title fights more than 206 which last I checked comes before 207, gave me an indication that its not the companies priority and they've even written it off themselves. Tonights card now thats a bad card!!

Well ya there is some good fights there, but their is no star power, not a sprinkle of it.
    207 does look good though.

Max is going to wash him

148lbs so much for the Interim belt :pac:

Can max decide not to fight now ? he would be a fool to fight a heavier pettis and risk a loss that could take him out of the title race.

id be sitting on my couch going Dana baby i showed up....now gimme aldo homie.

Not a hope Max would turn the fight down, he will get 20% off Pettis money too although he could play hardball if he had wanted.

is 20% worth it though. If pettis wins max is out of the title picture.

The card is ruined if Holloway doesnt fight he would never get another shot for pulling, they will compensate him though I hope, Good to see Dana's plans backfire Pettis is 1-4 shouldnt be fighting for any belt as it is.

The new weigh in procedure is making a lot of guys miss weight. I think there was one missed weight in the first five months (old procedure), there's been 18 since May. Fighters are obviously struggling with the early weigh in.

Make that 19, Letourneau missed weight too.

Holloway v Pettis still on, Max can win the belt, Pettis can't.

I know Pettis cant win the interim spot but if he does win, what does that do for Holloways credibility as no 1 contender for Aldo.

This whole thing is an absolute mess.

Pettis wins who gets a shot? hes going straight back to 155 now Im guessing no way can they trust him to make it against Aldo.

Think Pettis will take this. He always fights better off the back foot against fighters who come forward and are aggressive. Think it will go to a decision but I think Pettis experience of high pressure fights will pay off. Max is still young and probably a higher ceiling as a fighter but I think headlining an event and fighting someone of Pettis's caliber will too much just now. Definitely a future champion though!

Pettis was gassed after 2 rounds last time not a hope hes going 5 here and winning a decision he wont be winning 3 rounds imo he needs a finish imo.

Yeah hes legit off his back alright great submission skills but I cant see Max wanting to grapple with him (hes no bad grappler himself lately) can see Pettis having early success his kicks are lethal but the pressure will be too much I reckon.

So unprofessional, joke the amount of fighters that miss weight.

Glad Max doesn't miss out a chance to get a title.

    3 Observations:

    1. No, Conor has never missed weight. And that's to his eternal credit and professionalism.

    2. But has Conor ever had a fight camp where he wakes up at 4am in Straffan, looks outside his bedroom window to see all his cars burning to the ground and worried sick for the safety of his partner/child, wondering is someone downstairs?

No? Well that's exactly what Pettis went through in this camp.

Sure, he could have pulled out if the stress and worry of a repeat arson attack was too high.

On the other hand, he pushed through the mental adversity and did his best to show up and compete.

    3. John Phillips recently missed weight by 13.2lbs and over recent weeks nearly everyone in SBG has been harrassing the UFC on Twitter to get him signed. Sinead Kavanagh and Richie Smullen also missed weight on the BAMMA 26 card.

    My point?

It's all well and good pointing to Conor's professionalism and kicking Pettis when he's down. Why you'd want to do that, I've no idea.

But it comes across very hypocritical when Phillips, who talks just as big a game as Pettis, misses by a full stone and you're trying to lobby for his signature.

I really don't understand what he gets out of this. Pettis is a decent fella, by most accounts. He had a really tough camp. Any of us here would have trouble sleeping at night if someone burned our cars to the ground while we are asleep.

How could Pettis truly relax going to the gym? How could he truly focus? If he's in any way human, he'd have a nagging worry if his wife and child are ok at home while he's in the gym sparring.

Maybe he should have pulled out of the fight and anyone saying that, I've no problem agreeing with. It's a testament to his character that he at least tried to make the weight and show up to fight.

Just don't understand the point in kicking a man when he's down. He should be praised for his determination not taken the p1ss out of.

These sort of Tweets are exactly the reason John is getting a bad reputation among other Elite Coaches and fighters. Chael Sonnen said as much on his podcast.

You look into these things too seriously Wonder, its a tongue in cheek comment hes not abusing him or anything for missing weight just a general comment he has every right to post anyone who doesnt like it can click unfollow you cant analyze every single thing he posts so literally relax and ignore it you hold him to these high standards for some reason, you must realise he doesnt have to behave to yours or anybodys.

He tweeted it just after Pettis missed weight. And in the thread said his point is simple "Conor makes the weight every time". I.e. Pettis didn't.

It's a snide, snarky put-down of another athlete while praising his own athlete, Conor. Notice he didn't tweet sarcastic BS when 3 of SBG missed weight at BAMMA 26.

He can behave whatever way he wants, I'm allowed an opinion on it.

I can now relate to how Dana White feels. One minute accused of being a nuthugger and the next implied a hater. :o

Was just watching the embedded videos earlier and it showed Pettis and his team eating out in some local restaurant, "treating themselves" because everything was on point. Very poor judgement by all.

Pettis weighed 154lbs on Wednesday according to his team. Which should be a very easy cut down to 145lbs. Obviously, for whatever reason, he couldn't sweat it out.

That steak he had for dinner, which incidentally was 6 days ago, might well have been the only substantial meal he had that day.

I don't get why everyone is on his case. He had the hardest camp of his life in so many ways and it's his 2nd attempt at the new weight class. He made weight the first time!! It's not as if he has a history of screwing up. Give him a break.

I love Radiohead but if they release a sh1t album, I'm gonna say it's sh1t lol.

I've a ton of respect for Conor and John - and praise/defend them on this forum almost non-stop.

But when it comes to mocking other athletes or mentally ill people who send STUPID messages to your inbox, then yeah I'll be critical. Just as I was critical of that time he said they couldn't afford tracksuits for the IMMAF worlds. Or when Luka needed a shorts sponsor etc.

    And of course.....

TOM EGAN. lol. Poor Tom. :pac:

Title on the line. If max loses it makes the weight an even bigger sh1tshow. I agree with the comment about kavanagh is hypocritical ( i doubt any camp has never missed weight, open to correction ) but hes entitled to say what he wants and pettis probably talked about a mcgregor fight at some point and hes messed up big time here.

He obviously wasnt on point when he had that steak.

I also agee about the mental toughness with regard to car incondent. How long ago did that happen?
