It doesn't happen as much now because there's so much choice but I remember one summer going to watch a bit of TV as a kid and the Australian series Round The Twist would be the only feckin thing on. I hated that show. It gave me a sort of eerie feeling but I'd watch it anyway cause there was nothing else on the other channels :)

Round the twist was class. As i remember it anyway.

The Simpsons, I've seen every episode the last few years been terrible but I keep thinking they'll get it right again, still waiting.

Finally stopped watching Supernatural. It's the same ****e every series. It's on series 12 or so now and it's been crap since the 5th or whenever it was those lame arse angels were introduced.

I'm still watching the big bang theory too, but at 20 odd minutes or so an episode it's not massively offensive and mostly gets watched as background noise while on the computer.

I used to watch the Mentalist back when it was airing for the first time. I think I saw it mostly from the start of the series but gave up on series 4 of so. A show where sod all would happen for 23 or so episodes (husbands bumping off wives and other boring story lines) and then they'd remember they had some sort of vague over-arcing series plotline they had to return to. The main villain Red John was really interesting but he'd only pop up near the end of each series.

Gave up on Elementary recently for the same reasons. I think it's mostly a problem with US shows and their requirement to have 24 episodes a series... there's just too much dross to slog through.

Game Of Thrones. What a pile of nonsense. Stuck with it through 3 seasons and still can't understand all the fuss.

Witches and spells and giants and some blonde girl with pet dragons. It's like something you'd read to the kids at night-time while thinking who's the lunatic that wrote this and what were they sniffing at the time.

I find you're either into fantasy/sci-fi or you're not. Some people just can't suspend disbelief. Just the way it is. Although GOT is much more than strictly fantasy.

Sweet Valley High. Used to rush home to see it from school. Think I'll stream an episode to kill time!

Westworld. Had to give up after 5 episodes. Horrible characters and I just couldn't take the robots seriously.

IIRC Supernatural was only meant to be about 5 seasons long (the yellow eyes arc) but it was so popular they continued. I think the writers changed at that point. I stopped watching about 2 seasons ago but tbh I'll probably end up watching them. I'm a sucker for the IRL bromance between the actors, somehow that makes me see past the awful storylines.

I still watch Grey's Anatomy out of duty I think. It hasn't been good since the season that ended with the shooting. Now it's just "what major disaster can we put them in this season". It's gotten beyond unbelievable and the new cast are awful. This season is slightly better than the last few bit still pretty bad, yet I keep watching! I think if they ever write Karev out of it I'll be 100% done.

    Spartacus: Blood and Sand
I watched it because everyone around me was watching it...

True Blood. I enjoyed the first season but somewhere in Season 2 (or maybe 3) the quality suddenly went off a cliff and never recovered from there. I watched it until the bitter end hoping it would get better but it never did.

Same, it went downhill big time after season 2 but to be honest I actually really enjoyed the last 2 seasons.
