Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How did Hazard play in comparison?

Am I imagining it or did Hazard run riot away to Sunderland last year?

it's a pile of pish though
    for Antonio goal
he was the ONLY west ham player where the ball was kicked towards. flicked off a pool head and no assist awarded as he significantly altered the intended destination
did they think norved was trying to kick for touch ?
    It's a rubbish inconsistent rule

No harm but I still disagree. I have very very rarely see the rule applied inconsistently. Can't think of one example. Just seen the Antonio goal and come on! The fact that Antonio was the only West Ham player forward doesn't mean the ball as struck was ever getting to him. The ball had a low trajectory and the most likely destination was one of the several Liverpool players between Antonio and the ball. The 'flick' completely changed where the ball was going and it wouldn't have got near him without the flick.

"Intended" destination is maybe misleading as he may have "intended" to play it up towards Antonio but the execution when it left his foot meant it wasn't where he actually hit it to.

The non assist for Akes goal last week was 100% correct too.

But that's where he intended to play it ?
    Watched the mane one again
He didn't even lift his head
Just belted it into the box . There was a free player just outside the 6 yard box
I think maybe he was the intended target.......:D

    Amat 2 weeks ago
Gerry D last year at least once last year . One of them was absolutely ridiculous that he didn't get it
Sturridge last year (I think ) got one that was equally ridiculous

They have to get rid of the "intended " bit
    How can they know?
    They can't. It's guess work

Fell 10k to 31k from last night but ultimately a 12k rise for the week. So despite a little disappointment with today it's been an excellent follow up to last week's 101 point haul.

Why did nobody tell me playing so sensible could be so fun? :pac:

I watched Amats carefully that week. And sad to say i just watched it again! :o.

Amat flicked it on and the defender headed it away from goal, but it hit a second defender and deflected to Fer. The first defensive header significantly changed the destination of Amats flick on, a second deflection changed it to go back towards Fer. No assist.

I agree that the wording of the rule is open to interpretation. I don't agree that its applied inconsistently. You won't get an assist for a hopeful ball up into a crowded final third, especially where the original ball seems to be heading straight for a few defenders before looping up over those defenders after a deflection of a mid.

You will always get an assist for a cross into the box towards an attacking player unless a defender deflects it away from goal.

As for the Delefeu one. That was about them deciding that his ball in was a pass rather than a shot. Which of course they couldn't know. But based on there being 2 Everton players in the 6 yard box immediately between Del and the goal it wasn't the outrageous call its made out to be. If it was a shot blocked down and score its an assist. They interpreted it as a pass deflected away from goal so no assist.

    Cheers, losing my marbles.
I had him this time last year and was eyeing him up for Captaincy against Sunderland but he went and got injured against Leicester the game before... a hip injury that didn't look too bad so I held onto him for the no show. It's all coming back to me.

    Try 45 (-8).

Amazed I only dropped 50k to 120k which is still not a bad rank for this stage of the season.

Started off so well with Holebas getting 2 assists and Snodgrass getting an early goal.

    Rapidly downhill from there.

Cedric not playing and subsequently not getting a CS fairly annoyed me.

Zlatan, Kane, Nacho got me a grand total of 5 (better than last weeks total of 1 from Aguero, Austin, Lukaku)

Dropped to 150k OR, not good. A lot of red arrows.

Praying this midweek GW will be better, now 98 points behind leader in my league!

48 (-8) and dropped 38.5k places to 121k. Can't believe I didn't even consider Costa for the captaincy.

Costa captain was just about the only thing that saved my week

    41(-4) :(
23 coming from unlikely sources of Holebas, Snodgrass and Diomande.

Evans, Ibra, Kane, Hazard, Lovren and Firmino(c) got me a miserly 11 points:(

    down from 48k to 80k

42(-8) drops me down to 428K, very disappointing after last week. Hopefully Kane can do the business this week
