    hi all

i am a newly qualified accountant, who has worked in accountancy practice throughout my training (doing accounts/audit/tax).

how difficult would it be to make a move into funds now?
    has anybody done this?

    pat

Hi Pat, well without any accountancy background, I started work a few years abo in the Fund Industry and am now studying to get my accountancy qualifications, so I have done it the other way.
I'd say you should be fine - have a look at the job specs and your skills and knowledge should be transferable

Very interesting move to go toward the funds industry.

Problem for a newly qualified accountant moving into funds, is that you could be stuck in the sector if you dont like it.

As a newly qualified, you have loads of other options, although I can imagine this could be a location specific decision.
