    Shambolic lineout

In fairness they were played in the air there.

Looks like an U11's lineout where you aren't allowed lift, throw the ball in and hope for the best.

come on tom, get the lineout sorted. you're delaying it too long

Penalty, kick five metres to touch, screw up the lineout, scrum...

    Just run the thing

A bit of common sense from officials wouldn't go amiss.

Ah you can't have it both ways. Common sense is subjective.

    Connacht lineout is a disaster.

Wasps have been poor Nathan Hughes and Beale aside. If Connacht had a lineout they'd be comfortable. All wasps territory and points coming from Connacht errors

Won't be beating one of the best teams in Europe with lineouts like and a 10 who's one of the worst kickers in the Pro12.

Noone wants it both ways. They want dangerous tackles to result in cards and marginal tackles to result in penalties. It's consistent. For all your complaints about us you seem unable to stop whining about that though.

Big scrum again and knock the penalty over

Lovely stuff. Nice offload to set Marmion away.

    Much better from carty too

Yes, you can have it both ways. Dangerous high tackles should be penalized, what Beale did was a bit high on a player dipping into it. No way near a yellow.

Rugby isn't a black and white, you need interpretation to come into it - you can't just apply YC to every player that makes contact with the shoulder/neck with their arm. Otherwise there'd be 50 yellow cards a game.

    Super try.

Wow amateur hour at ruck defence there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,404 ✭✭✭Korat

    Brilliant try!

Connacht playing with one arm tied by behind their back still bloody lethal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Poor defence, bit of luck with the bind and wheel and a brilliant offload

    Lovely little break from Marmion.

    Beale looks about 45

Barnes on about Ireland's riches at scrum half :D

Another chance for points missed. Aki looks goosed.

    Edit: or maybe not

So many visits to the 22 getting nothing

Lovely Connacht try, shut the Sky lads up as they were talking waffle too, should be a 6 point try for that alone!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

TOH could've gotten that away imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,532 ✭✭✭swiwi_

Furlong has surged in recent times. Marty Moore having a bit of a struggle at the scrum. Worked out alright for Leinster in the end.

Is the ref laughing at the wasps bacrow who smacked hs colleague on the ass?

Ah ffs Connacht. More opportunities thrown away.

A backrow shouldn't be stripped if a ball like that by a back. Very, very poor from Heenan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Connacht not clinical enough. Playing heads up rugby is all well and good but you still have to be smart.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,278 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Heenan should've passed too for a walk in try. Awful stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Should be out of sight. Wasps not shown up yet still in it

    gopperth/carty could be decisive here

    go rory parata. exciting player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Connacht just don't seem to be with it... I wonder if the Lam news has been a bit of disruption to the camp.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Did Parata not go to school in Ireland? Said he's from Sydney and joined the Connacht academy

Very good defence off that scrum. Important to only stay 3 points down considering all the ball they have had.

thats a bit harsh. jack isnt kicking well, the lineout isn't functioning and yet connacht are very much in this game. and wasps are full of stars.

The main issues have been there all season, and beyond.

Cartys always been a poor kicker.

We've been poor in the 21 all season, conversion rate there is very poor.

Lineout was equally as bad againat Leinster and has been poor for a while now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,404 ✭✭✭Korat

If Connacht win today it will be the most impressive result of the weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,819 ✭✭✭Tigerandahalf

Muldowney is such a loss to the lineout and the restarts too.

Dillane I am not sure about long term. Explosive but not sure if the basics are good enough. Same with Roux. They are too similar a pairing. Need someone to fetch in the lineout.

Scrum is a great contest. Buckley v Moore is worth watching alone.

Conor Carey looks a great prospect. Was Bealham rested?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

Starving Wasps of possession is the way to beat them, but for all our possession their defence has been fairly impenetrable, and we haven't made the right decisions when we got into good positions. When Wasps get the ball they look dangerous, whether we can starve them of it again in the second half remains to be seen. Scrum going well, but they've disrupted out lineout well. Hold on to the ball and we have a great chance of winning this

I don't think it's harsh at all. TOH has been off, his head doesn't look in it. Same with Aki. Carter's missing sitters. Heenan's been fairly static. These are usually the guys who step up and lead the team. The lineout is a big worry too - there's something up here.

Marmion is playing brilliantly, back to his best, literally keeping his side in the fight. Carey is having a fine game too.

Connacht have all the assets to win here, Wasps looking out of shape quite a bit and are getting frustrated, but Connacht need to look a bit sharper.
