Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Players should be confident at anytime to pass the ball. Not just when winning.

Clyne nearly passed it straight to a WH player when I posted that, the margin for error was absolutely huge. There's confidence and then there's stupidity.

Hammers look well able to deal with geggen press

He just can't use his hands.

Edit: Actually, worse positioning than it was actually hand strength

Look at Karius' starting position there. Fcuk sake.

Not exactly right in the corner. Think Karius should save that to be honest.

Jaysus Karius should do a lot better there.

Karius position left a huge target for Payet.

    Starting position was awful

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Karius starting position was a step to far to his left. He left a huge target for a very talented player, he did not even need to find the corner with that huge gap.
    Very bad judgement from Karius

He has to be dropped he is rubbish.

He had wall positioned to cover middle of goal, karius thinking he could cover both corners.

    Unreal.

Wouldn't blame the keeper for that one, great technique by Payet

What happened to Mignolet? Good finish for that one.

But he didn't so your point is moot.

Karius standing way too far to his left. That was always going in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,378 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

The wall should be blocking that, Lalana didn't jump at all there.

Good keeper stops that IMO. Wasn't even in the corner.

    Amazing freekick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,799 ✭✭✭corwill

Even with his poor starting position, he should have stopped that. He followed the flight of it the whole way in. It's like his gloves are full of over-cooked spaghetti, instead of hands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Shave his head and **** him out. He can't make a save

Gave him way too much on the wall side and wasn't strong enough to keep it out when he got to it late.

If you're showing the goal to the free kick taker then the least you can do is be quick to go to that space. Karius was pathetically weak behind that shot.

Karius nearly saved that. Does that make him a good keeper in your books so?

Without a doubt. A strong hand push that around the post.

The wall didn't do their job and it was a great free kick.

Karius is crap we need a new keeper in January

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

While it was a good free kick it was totally saveable by a decent keeper IMO. It wasn't exactly in the corner.

I wont be getting too upset because I really didn't expect any better from him. The lads outfield busting their balls and your man doesn't know where to stand on his goal line ffs.

The last 2 good Liverpool goalkeepers in the crowd must be thinking of putting on the boots again. Can't be any worst than what we have.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

We are carrying a poor keeper.
It was a central free kick, he clearly could not think straight under the weight of the task and made a huge error in his positioning.
It was his fault again. He should have been more central for a central freekick .

It's like watching an outfield player who's been put between the sticks in an emergency, due to sendings-off/injuries.

He weakly flapped/punched one a few minutes after Lallana's goal as well.

Mig was never this bad and must be reinstated asap.

The experiment has failed. Don't let it cost us anymore goals.

Form has dipped a bit in last couple of games.

The most annoying thing about the keeper situation is the assumption that Karius will improve. Mignolet got gradually worse and he's still young for a keeper, there's little to suggest Karius will definitely get better. Having hands not made of feathers would be a start though.

He's just not effective in a wide position. Rodgers spent the end of his term proving this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Karius: If the ball doesn't smack his chest, legs, or head, its not being saved.

One of them was taking money to let in goals and he was still more reliable than a lot of what has been in the nets since then.
