To save weeding in spring is this a good idea?

Or does it turn the area into a slug fest and make it very counter productive?

Its just suck a job to weed out all the beds in spring ...

Its a good idea and then in Spring, lift it and kill all the slugs you find, so win win:)

Some bin bags cut so they are open and laid flat with a rock at each corner and along the sides will do the same if you are short of card, card will need weighing down like plastic does.

Great idea. Did it a couple of years ago and it worked really well. Forgot to do it this year so thanks for the reminder.

    Slug proof fence. Works!

Cardboard will also warm up the soil in spring, making planting more likely to succeed.
