Yep they are picked, how the hell do I keep on doing that?

I'm intrigued to see Paulie take Paul Bearer. Eventhough I have Taker and Kane I had no plans to draft him.

He was partnered with Giant Gonzales last year IIRC.

He was one of your potentail bonus round picks....

If they had of still been available your rd15 picks would have been the top drafts of the game tbh

I toyed with drafting Strike Force, but I think I've had them twice before, so decided against it.

    Superb value.

Had Strike Force on my list but went with the Andersons in the hope that others think I've booked them well previously which better fits my plans. Kinda surprising that they always go late despite being a highly regarded tag team.

Picks up and PM sent. I dont think my picks were gone yet? Had a quick look before posting. Was worried Sim Snuka might be gone under a different name though??

I've a question regarding a storyline I'm working on. One of the background characters in my Ricky Steamboat storyline is going to be Ricky Steamboat's infant son. I'm wondering am I allowed use the kid's actual name since in real life the kid went on to become a wrestler himself?

I want to stress I have no intention of ever using the son as an adult.

If it's an issue, I can not name him in the storyline; or else I'll just invent a fictitious kid.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,804 ✭✭✭A Brad Maddox Guy

Hmmm bit of a tough one, normally my instinct would be to be pretty lax about these things, particularly if it's just a child. But assuming it's the son I'm thinking of then he's fairly well known & may have even been drafted before. My personal opinion/recommendation would be to wait and see if anyone drafts him and if nobody does then work away with the real son, it's not as if you're going to have him wrestling or anything. If somebody does (which would be a bit surprising but we've seen stranger) then just use a fictitious name as I assume the name isn't going to influence things in the slightest.

If he didn't become a wrestler would you write about him? If not then you should draft him. Otherwise, as Brad says, use him if he is not drafted in the way we can use commentators not drafted.

I don't think it is a problem but better ask Joe

Yeah I find myself wishing he didn't become a wrestler because then it would be grand. He's not even an important figure in my story, though he is around for an important moment.

Maybe I should just have the characters say 'hey kiddo', 'hey little man' etc.

If he is not drafted you are in the clear anyway but if its for a moment (as an infant) it should be sound regardless.

It brings up a good point though. For example I have Stephanie McMahon. If I mentioned her family in a promo is that fair game even though I haven't drafted them? Obviously I wouldn't use the other family members in the storyline (unless I drafted them of course)

I wouldnt be concerned too much MNG, Id be ok with you using him even if you have no plans drafting him in that capacity. Id even go as far to say whom ever drafts his son (Though I imagine only you may draft him, if anyone) would be ok with you using Steamboats son.

If he remains undrafted Id say your ok to use him, if he is drafted by someone else then you may just wanna run it by that person.

2 years ago I used Jake Roberts son without drafting him, though its different as he is not an in ring performer like Rickies kid. But wouldnt object you to using him as youve laid out.

The mentioning on people is fine, once they arent used as an actual character.

By the way Lee I haven't let your preview show gone unnoticed. Will have a review of it up tomorrow at some stage. Been slightly busy and on the go since 3am this morning with the birth of my second child!

Had a read of Bounty Hunter's preview show.

    BWA Preview show -
I liked the beginning and the acknowledgement of the Draft's history. I'm planning on doing something similar. I think you and I might be the only ones who can since I think we're the only two who did them all.

I enjoyed the strong introduction of Dibiase and I can tell you're going to have a lot of fun using him.

I liked that in your roster summary you left things open ended which keeps us curious going into the first show. There's lots of ways you can go and I'm keen to see which direction you eventually decided on.

I'll look to offer more feedback soon.

Have my first show pretty much done but don't think I will post it until I add my rd16 person as we are so close now. Actually took a shot at Campo's CWA in much the same way as I used to with MNG / Walt's WECWF so I hope he doesn't mind too much, cosidering the trades I did with him and that Andre left his promotion with one of his belts they will no doubt get mentioned again and tbh I always like any BWA mention on another show (assuming they aren't beating the crap outta one of your wrestlers) as simply the acknowledgement that your show is worth mentioning even if it is in that MNG / WECWF type of taking shots at each other way is a positive imo.

It is good when people have continuity on their shows and usually I would roster wise normally but this year I don't (don't think I had any of my roster last year) so I might have to hold off some of my guys till show 2 so they can get a proper introduction instead of all being introduced at the same time in show 1.

I actually have my first two shows written. Wanted to get ahead of the writing for at least a week or two for obvious reasons. Holding off until I make my picks this round and then I'll probably post the first show. I'll then hold off on the second until after round 16.

I have definitely done the same as you BH. I held off two or three characters at least until show 2 to make their debuts. Some may not make an appearance till show 3 or 4 for storyline reasons.
