    Hi everyone,

I've a general question/discussion about this impending legislation.

It's over two years since our last rent review.

We have been issued our rent review letter about 80 days ago from our landlord.

It is due to be increased by 300(25%)per month from January.

We have until christmas to have this reviewed by the PTRB.

So.. If the legislation is passed in before christmas, can we say that it should only be increase by a maximum of 4% as apposed to the 25% she wants?

Are people who are due increases from 1st of January included on this new legislation?

    Thanks for your views.

No. Your rent has been reviewed and increased, the review took place under the previous regime. The legislation (after it is enacted) will apply for any future reviews.

This assumes that the review was valid (e.g. 24 months after the previous review) and that the notice provided to you complied with the statutory requirements.
