    Hi guys,

Was wondering what Soundbar would you recommend for around the €200 mark (could possibly stretch a smidge more)?
I've read good things about the Philips HTL5140 but I feel that it may be just out of budget (Christmas present.
Any other recommendations or deals you can do?
    Thanks,
    Conor

Morning spirit and apologies for the delay getting back to you :o

Ok as ever there's rarely a straight answer !

I would go for the original Cambridge TV2 which is now significantly reduced to £149 / €189 - it has had pretty amazing reviews and under £150 very little can match it - the complication is that its a soundbase / plint rather than a traditional soundbar - but it really does sound all the better for that! Check it out here:

Next up ( and sticking to the brief - its a traditional Soundbar!) The Yamaha YAS105  is about the best at just £169 / €199:

The Philips HTL5140 is a great unit and it does sound good and it looks really slick with its super slim bar - it will bust the budget tho' at £199 / €249

Still time if you want to grab one online or of course keep us posted if we can assist,

    Hey, thanks for the reply!
I'm actually now thinking of revising the budget downwards (freeing up funds for other presents), what would would recommend around the £100-120 mark. I'm thinking of the Wharfedale Vista 100 or the Yamaha YAS93. Any particular reason to favour either of those?
    Thanks a lot!

Went with Yamaha to save costs. Presumably my Dad could swap/upgrade this with you if he's not fully satisified?

    Hey Spiritcrusher.

Just checking that everything is going well with the Yamaha that you purchased?
