I flew it into work on the bike. Strong wind at my back, no traffic. Going to be a bitch getting home.
Its gusting enough in Galway to blow the perspex roof off the bike shed

Winds have dropped significantly here in North Sligo. Still gusty. I reckon we had a F9 between 4 and 8am. Heavy blowing rain now. Hopefully this will clear by afternoon.

Dry here in Dublin at the moment. Rather windy though. I wouldn't say the rain is too far off.

Very gusty with heavy rain in Galway from that developing squall line..

Winds now veering westerly at Mace Head..looks like a squall line hitting the west coast over Clare and Kerry?

Would imagine that was the squall line.

Flying bikes : it's usually a bad sign in a storm.

Am I right thinking it's meant to calm from 12?

Are landings at Dublin Airport effected ?
    I´m flying home tomorrow ...

    North Dublin:

Looked out the front window and thought <I've more wind in my farts>

Looked out the back window, see the clothes getting a good old blowing about on the line. I can hear the gusts of wind (outside :D ) now.

Mum is due to fly in from Spain later. Probably just as well i'm not elected to collect her at the airport.

No. The rain will subside, turning to showers but it will be windy for the day.

Dead calm in North Sligo. Has it passed over or is this the calm before the storm?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,047 ✭✭✭Clonmel1000

Is it a storm? Or a wet winters day?

Those Squall Lines are mad. Got soaked here in Limerick.

I am starting to think that Met Eireann wants to wrap us all up in cotton wool.

There was a time no so long ago that this weather was called wet and windy.

Now Facebook society calls it stormy.
