Where would I get more information on using these in class? I trained a long time ago, and I'd love to do a course explaining how these should be mentioned at the start of class/ incorporated into classes.

Sharing of learning outcomes is considered a formative assessment technique.

You can use Google to find info about AfL and learning outcomes. I use learning outcomes as my headings on a daily basis. It can then be used as a checklist for study purposes.

Look for AfL (Assessment for Learning) information or courses.

I'm seeing a lot of change in official advice about this lately. Several inspectors of PME students recently have told them to stop writing learning intentions on the board as it's a waste of time. At our recent whole school JCT inservice day we were told that writing learning intentions on the board was absolutely not necssary and not always the most suitable way to "share the learning intentions". This follows years of it being specifically praised or listed as an area for improvement in inspection reports.

Just tell em what you're going to do in the class that day.. write it up on the board

It's not necessary now apparently to write it up. Until a few years from now when it will be deemed necessary again. No need to do a course OP, as the others have said, just google it.
