Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd Lukaku is relishing getting going against Lovren & Klavan.
Hopefully Origi takes the limelight :)

Klavans positioning already dodgy there for that cross. Hopefully doesn't become a recurring thing.

So sloppy Firmino, can't take touches like that in the middle of the pitch.

    Blistering start so far.

Leicester should have bought Gana to replace Kante.

We've been crap so far, but we always play in spells. As long as this is a bad one, I won't worry just yet.

100 mph stuff. Need to settle down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Klavan and Lovren already mis communicating

Liverpool not up for this at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Couple of times Wijnaldum and Henderson have had a free path in front to run into and have just stalled looking for a pass, that's where you want Emre Can.

Barkley's also getting far too much space, needs to be picked up more by the midfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,024 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Just need to hang in there and keep it 0-0 for the first 25 or 30 minutes, then we'll see pool come into it much more as it settles I think.

Not getting anything from the ref here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Haven't put together a good move yet, Mane held it too long there and just hit it in hope.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Fairly shocking first 15 minutes quality wise. No pattern, no control to the game, no technical skill on show. Just run and punt.

Origi has got to hold the ball up better
    Terrible so far

Lucky Barkley is so rubbish. His first touch is gone.

Oh ya, if a football match breaks out in this game your money is on Liverpool.

I'm going mad here every time Barkley is allowed to win the ball unchallenged just outside our box, Henderson has got to pick him up better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 831 ✭✭✭daingeanrob

may have spoke too soon, everton all over us.

Credit where it is due also, Coleman is in sensational form.

Lukaku needs to stay on the last shoulder and get himself in position for an early cross from Baines or Coleman. His threat in the air needs to be maximized playing a newish centre half pairing and a dodgy goalkeeper

    Liverpool captain awol again.

He makes James McCarthy look good.

Long time since liverpool were this dominated. Seems to be no space anywhere.

Liverpool playing the occasion so far, hopefully Everton will start to wilt. Coleman needs more marking

In these games it's always the first 25 to 35 minutes that are manic, then will settle and we'll come more into it. Just need to not make any silly mistakes at the back.

    Ragnar doing well so far.

Ya, hes gt the freedom of the right flank. Given Evertons play usually comes from the FBs they have to close down those areas quicker.

Everton dont have much in the middle.

Good old fashioned kind of a game this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Milner doesn't even lift his head, just hits it to no one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,758 ✭✭✭Laois_Man

Everton need to get the goal that's deserved or we'll regret it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,024 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Already a noticeable drop off in Everton's running. Think it'll be quite different form here on now.

It's fast and physical but it's a game (thus far) that epitomises why English sides fail so often in Europe. There's no nuance or pattern to it at all.

Refs are so eager to give free kicks out for pushing in the box but would never give a penalty for the same.

Aggression and Pressure are equally valid tactics.
