Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, I've booked an appointment with the vet but with it being almost Christmas they are short staffed and I couldnt get an appointment for a few days so if anyone could help with my worries I'd be so grateful!!

My neutered terrier x male (almost 8) recently started weeing in the house after being hit by a car. It stopped after a little while so we thought it was just a phase due to shock or a foster dog leaving.

Over the last couple of weeks he's been really hungry and demanding food but lost weight going from borderline chunky to being able to feel his bones. His food (burns sensitive) and exercise hasn't changed.
He's very, very thirsty and drinks a crazy amount and even though we let him out every hour he's having accidents in the house again.

He's happy and his personality is normal apart from being a bit food aggressive and snappy.

Does this sound like diabetes or is there anything else I should read up on? If so what type of treatment would he need? My vet is very good thankfully so I'm blessed with knowing dont need to look around!!

Just to add in the last 30 mins he's been to the water bowl 4 times for about 20 seconds a go, this is what happens all day.

Sounds like something is up alright. How does his stool look? Has he been wormed in recent months?

Hopefully you can get him sorted with a vet asap, can't be comfortable for him!

To save time bring a urine sample to the vets when you go in so they can dip and test straight away! ;)

They said that would help. He keeps running away though so I'll have to work out a plan :)

    Vonvix, the appointment is booked.

We had concerns about our dog weeing in the house when she was on medication and the vet gave us a syringe and container to lift the wee from the tiles if they pee'd in the house, we had to bring it in asap after collection. Could this be an option for you I wonder? At the same appointment she was taken off the medication and she went back to being house trained so ddnt end up needing to do it.

Yep, I used a ladle. I had a bitch though, so it was probably easier with her squatting rather than cocking a leg.

Thanks for the suggestions, he isn't diabetic and his blood tests showed nothing so he's going in for scans.
The vet said its leaning towards more serious things now as all the more obvious things have been ruled out, very worried now.
