    Hi
I've recently come across these bank notes. I don't know if their worth what the exchange rate says on google they are for argentine pesos as it says their worth over 300 euros each

I picked them up at a market for a fiver each!!

Could this be too good to be true?

I'm wornderning if their is anyone here who can tell me exactly what they are and if their worth anything and if so how would I go about changeing them!

I'm not an expert on banknotes, let alone those from Argentina but I can't resist an opportunity to do some internet research, it's not good news I'm afraid.....

The portrait on the front of your note is of Jose de San Martin and the rear shows 'Mar Del Plata' which you can read above the 'Cinco' at the bottom of the note. This makes it an Argentinian peso ley note.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argentine_peso_ley

The 'peso ley' was the official currency from January 1970 to May 1983 at which point it was replaced by the peso argentino at a rate of 10,000 to 1 i.e. your 5,000 note overnight was devalued to half a ('new') peso argentino.

More hyperinflation followed and if you can get your hands on a calculator with about 60 decimal places, you may be able to work out how much that note is worth now by following the progress of the various versions of the peso from then to now ....
