Just saw this reel on youtube that someone put together on Tadgh Furlong.

Dear god he is a Monster.

That double "sit the f**k down" against the All Blacks around 1:21 is nearly replacing my Stephen Ferris carrying Will Genia backwards moment as a favourite memory

Can we all give honorary Irishman Leonardo Sarto a big cheer?

Yeah, if he's out in Dublin tomorrow night I'll buy him a pint. Il Ligindo

Sorry, being a bit dim but don't understand the reference.

Edit: Is this about scoring a crucial try that won us the 6N?

    Twice.

In 2014 he scored against England who we barely beat on points difference, and in 2015 he scored against Wales who we barely beat on Points difference.

He also scored a try against us in those tournaments

The try against Cardiff sums him up best. Ball thrown over his head, no problem, just takes it in his stride, strong step off the right foot and then the brute force to get to the line.

Great to see a lad so modest in personality and shape doing so well.

Seeing that run against NZ always puts a smile on my face. Something that's not in the video is his tackle on Abendanon against Clermont. That was pretty special too

With Molony being captain for tomorrow's game would I be correct in saying that Molony, Leavy, Luke McGrath, James Ryan, Nick McCarthy and Jack Kelly were all St. Michael's captains?

    That's a lot of captains..

(Taken from the fourteen ex St. Michaels students currently at Leinster: Molony, Leavy, McGrath, Marsh, Reid, Ryan, Deegan, Murphy, McCarthy, Byrne, O'Loughlin, Dowling, Kelleher, Kelly.)

Yeah, if you get named St Michaels captain these days you probably don't need to worry too much about CAO points,

Nick McCarthy captained Ireland u20 but not St. Michaels.

He sits down Brodie Retallick and Kieran Read. In the same run. He's so good to watch.

Interesting article on the42.ie about Porter's move to tighthead

    http://www.the42.ie/andrew-porter-tighthead-leinster-prop-3362826-Apr2017/
As he gets set to bow out of rugby in June, veteran tighthead Ross has been impressed by Porter’s early efforts to move to tighthead.
“He’s looking pretty good, to be honest,” said Ross. “The kid is really strong, Cian Healy is kind of looking at him a bit enviously. I shouldn’t have said that, he’ll hear that and be angry with me!
“He’s looking good. It’s quite tough to switch over to that side but he’s improving every week. You can see it, he’s figuring it out.

“A couple of training sessions, he found it tough. A very important moment in his life happened, he got his wings. That’s a huge developmental milestone in a young tighthead’s life.”
    He got his wings, Mike?
“That’s when you get lifted off the ground. It hasn’t happened to him since. I’ve got them, Tadhg’s got them, Benty’s got them… every tighthead’s got them at some point. It’s a very important developmental milestone.
“It was Peter Dooley, he was quite proud of himself.”

Also encouraging that Ross said yesterday that he would stay involved with rugby as a scrum coach, possibly at UCD.

Another piece in the Indo this morning on Ross' departure here...

He certainly did do the Leinster (and Ireland) jersey some justice.

That's a Buccs jersey. He did play for the Marist though.

Edit: Sorry my bad, it is a Marist jersey. They're similar colours.

would have had Timmins there anyway.

and then this summer I'd ask him to try his hand at coverting to hooker.

SOB was a hooker in school I think? Cian Healy might have some experience there too, if I'm remembering correctly.

    SOB was a number 8.

Healy was a hooker for Belvo.

He had a calf strain before the Clermont game and I thought he had been ruled out earlier this week with the same issue but he was included in the team. I guess it's that flaring again unless something else has cropped up.

Minor enough strain as far as I'm aware but worrying that it's not clearing up fully.

O'Brien was mooted for a change to hooker before as I think he wasn't seen as tall enough for 6/8 and not really a natural 7. He must have done some work on it as I remember him throwing fairly confidently into the lineout before when the hooker was in the bin.

Dunno if that was ever taken seriously or if it was something a pundit (Brent Pope maybe?) just suggested.

All this talk of him not a being 7 is rubbish anyway, his best performances have come when he's been playing 7.

The problem with Sean O'Brien is that he isn't versatile enough to wear just one number on his back.

I've a very feint memory of a Ireland game a few years ago, Best was either in the bin or getting treated, SOB threw into the lineout for a bit.
