By the sounds of it they are different - I rang this morning  asked what was at the bottom of my letter
Mine says "This office will be in contact with you shortly regarding your appointment" - she told me I would be offered a position shortly

I'm the same as above. Did they give you any indication of a time frame... wonder are we talking days or weeks until we hear from them again

Are you high up the list. The person I know is 4th and she got told the same

By the sounds of it - soon! She just said the next stage will be checking and that could take about 4 weeks - I presume checking only happens when you have been offered the role!

My letter finishes with "This office will be in contact with you shortly regarding your appointment. "
I'm taking this as a positive sign-off, and I managed a top ten merit for Dublin so I'm hopeful to be offered my first choice of Dublin.
Can anyone tell me what the interdepartmental and irish streams are? I only applied for the open auditor position. Thanks

Is it possible to withdraw from the Irish Stream does anyone know? I put it down on the application but I am having second thoughts about it now..

Anyone have an idea of timelines of offers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60 ✭✭littlelady81

Does anyone know what type of jobs will be offered? I presumed that it would be CNAG and Revenue but I think I am incorrect.

from talking to them today - it should be over the next few days.

Am I right to assume that as this competition was for HEO Auditor that there are specific posts ready to be filled?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 MJPK

Yes numerous roles ready to be filled, I'm not sure of how many though.
The question then is if a candidate is successful, will they be offered Revenue or Comptroller and Auditor General.
I'm assuming this is based on candidates interviews and also their preferences for either office.

Any idea how many vacancies in the Dublin region?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 219 ✭✭psnKOB79LFC

Any job offers yet. I hear they need to get clearance first but if they mean Garda vetting that could take weeks???

Garda clearance forms had to be brought to interview so that should be lined up at least.

I rang yesterday to see what the story was regarding offers. So they said that they'll be sending the list of people they want to offer positions to, to the checking people at the end of this week. Then said that checks would be done before job is offered. Hopefully not waiting too long! At least Garda vetting form has been completed and evidence of qualifications were provided at interviews!

Just been on there and all background checks are being carried out - will take 3-4 weeks and then offers will be made. So looking at a start date 6-8 weeks from now. Most positions are in the comptroller and auditor general and anyone on the Dublin panel will get a position.

Should be €46,081, goes to €58,000 or so as far as I know. If you google the scale, it should pop up handy enough.

Hi, anyone else receive a letter from PAS this morn requesting further info?
    Character/health declaration form
    Garda e-vetting form (already provided)

To be provided by 7th March

If you are an AO on point 2 so you start on ppint 2 HEO?

If you are an AO on point 2 so you start on ppint 2 HEO?

No. AO point 2 is less than HEO point 1, so you'll start on HEO point 1. See Circular 34/77: Starting Pay on Promotion or Establishment.

Does anyone here have any insight into transfers within regions in the Civil Service? When you take a role is there a minimum time before you can apply for a transfer?

has anyone been offered Dublin yet?

Hi littlelady81, congrats on the job offer!! can I be rude and ask what position you placed on the Galway panel? I'm on that panel too so I'd be interested in knowing how it's moving along. Thanks in advance

Hi littlelady. Once you start your new job you can put your name on the transfer list but the usual process is that you have to serve two years in your location before being transferred. That is supposed to be the rule but there has been exceptions out of that where people have gotten transferred before the 2 years. On the other hand depending on where you want to get transferred to, it might take longer than 2 years if there is no vacancy there at the time. I presume Galway was your second choice if you are considering a transfer.

Hiya haven't got a start date yet but was offered my first choice of Westmeath in Revenue Athlone. Am delighted - I was number 2 on the panel for Westmeath so there must be 2 vacancies in Westmeath or maybe number 1 refused. Best of luck everyone

    Congrats!!!! Great to get sorted!

When did you get notification of that? I'm number two on mine and wondering if vacancy offered yet, I got word there was one in my area so not sure if it's taken or been refused!

I got word on Monday. Maybe try and ring PAS and they might be able to tell you more. I suppose it depends on what locations you have down. Obviously if you had Dublin as one of your locations, you would have been offered a job for sure. Regional locations are that bit harder to come by

Thanks for the reply! Sounds like there were two vacancies in your neck of the woods because I think the offers only went out towards the end of last week. Their hands are tied at the minute, they can't tell me anything until I'm on top of the panel so hopefully not too long to wait!

Best of luck in your new role!!!

I have heard from c&ag in relation to my assignment but apart from that they still have no idea of a start date. Does anyone have any experience with the timeframe.

Has anyone else here heard from c&ag?? If so have you handed in your notice in your current employment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 MJPK

I have been informed by HR in the C&AG that contracts are now with DPER for approval.
So still no start date, and I'm just over two weeks away from the date I provided to the office as being available to work from.
    Slow process this!
Anyone been given a start date yet?

I've been told the same, is it normal procedure to be waiting for approval??

Thought we would of had contracts by now...

Not sure what the normal procedure is but I've been told I'm starting on the 10th.
Had to push them to get a start date as needed to hand in notice.
Still no contract though, hoping to get it in next few days!

Hopefully contract by the end of the week. It's a long time coming. Did they give you any indication of when they hope to have them?
Least a start date was given, did you get anymore info from them??
