M&S Liffey Valley. That's it. Wasn't expensive either but attracts dust and hair.

So Renee has said they didn't disclose Heather's poisoning of her daugther whilst also simultaneously ranting about how Heather hasn't hidden anything from the specialists about her and so she should be allowed to be released.

Cue 2 months of Meeeeeeeeeee Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa versus Renee/Heather

She was living in England and talks about years zooming up and down the M1! Can the writers not do a little research and realise that she would have retained her UK license, likely a paper one given her age which would not expre until she is 70

If she was driving on the M1 like she was last night I wouldn't have liked to be in the car with her, actually wouldn't want to see her on the M50 either.

My mate drives here on a paper UK licence issued on 1970 which I slag him about as was before I was born. Would be same age as Nora.

My dad never did a test as he got it during amnesty. Only myself and mam did test

Plus Renee has changed her tune about Heather big time- last she mentioned her was a scornful "She can stay in there forever as far as I'm concerned" and now shes all loveable and forgiving.

blame the writers, not Renee, she is just a poor unassuming puppet

If Heather is released and starts going all psycho again, you could accuse them of trivialising or sensationalising mental illness.

Well to be fair the hospital are only working on the information that Heather became obsessed with her doctor and cant seem to keep a grip on reality, they know nothing of the far more serious poisoning of her daughter, which would have kept her in treatment and away from Ellie for a long long time.

Its a given that she is only pretending to be better, they wouldn't have brought her back if not for entertainment. It can be argued though that Heather is just a bad, malevolent person and not a "mental" patient.

I'd be slightly uncomfortable with them using mental illness as a form of entertainment. At least in the case of Tommy, it was made clear that his erratic behaviour was as a result of a nervous breakdown from which he subsequently recovered.

They'd want to be careful with this storyline though or they risk straying into 'sensationalist' territory, especially if Heather returns as a pantomime villain.

I don't get how Hugie ended up paying for her treatment, wasn't she signed into psychiatric care by Dr shane, speaking of Hugie, what is the point of his character ? He was gone from the program for near 20 years and is now back permanently to just stand around looking like a tool.

I disagree, Hughie is a good background actor and has a consistent interesting personality, good delivery of lines and will no doubt get a big story soon (albeit a terribly written one! ha!)
He may irritate some, especially with his part in THE PLAN but I think he is very realistic character and his mini feud with The Don is a tad interesting.

I am glad they have not turned him into a lothario and given him a woman just for the sake of it.
He has that less malevolent element of Tadhg in Ros na Run and is often the voice of reason as a character.

Shocker: Dermo isnt going to die, he casually tells Ben he's a criminal, no biggie. Jo still doesnt know he's sick!

Delighted to see an even crazier looking Heather back. I wonder will she finish her book? Hughie claims to be broke, must be the only publican in Dublin not rolling in it Jan 1st!

So Christiano who is on holidays is going to learn to drive on a different side of the road than chile?? Where is this story going????

Farrah had to throw the lips infront of LH twice in Spar in one day, nice!

I would say at this stage, 9 months in captivity KT would be having some serious health issues, vitamin D deficiency from lack of sun light, muscles degrading from lack of exercise, surely some respitory problems from 8 months of shed air. Her eye sight would be in bits. Are we to believe she showers and drys off every day or two in a cold shed without catching a chill? Not to mention she would be stir crazy by now.

I met Emilia, the girl who plays KT, recently.. no problem getting a selfie and chatted away to me for ages.. came across as a lovely lovely girl. Id say she was delighted to be recognised :)

Ellie is a niece of Ciaran in real life.

Ha, and it was the actor of Ciaran's mother who let it slip that he was definitely the kidnapper! She told her next door neighbour who went onto some pregnancy forum (yeah, don't ask me!) a few weeks before the reveal and released the news!
Needless to say their were a few not so happy campers that someone ruined the story for them and it was handbags at dawn!! :D

It was funny at the time looking at the thread! Someone here put a link up!

She comes across really well on the show, one of the best actresses on it. She's not one of these posh types pretending to be working class either, pretty sure that's her real accent.

I never understood why working class actors and actresses don't seem to feature more in Irish tv shows/dramas. I know years ago if you didn't have a rich background you couldn't afford drama school etc but nowadays there are so many independent drama schools out there that anyone good enough should get a fair crack of the whip. But we are left with the same old faces in Irish drama- look at Amy Huberman on Striking Out. She is DEFINITELY not working class and in the show her parents lived in a big mansion, I mean that's not realistic for the majority of ordinary people.
Same when The Clinic was on, that was packed with actors who had a wealthy background, it really is unbalanced the acting industry. And I would make a safe bet that Caoimhe, Niamh, Paul and Delores are also from a wealthy background.

To be fair to FC, they have managed to include a fair few working class actresses on the show over the years, but there are a few glaring mismatches of course - there's no way Charlotte, Callum, Laura, Jane or Ben are working class for example, when their characters should be.

But I'd give them credit for the likes of Debbie, Doug, Katy, Decco, Denzo and Zumo and a few others.....Carrigstown is supposed to be a working class suburb after all (like Weatherfield and Walford cross channel), not Dublin 4.

And Bunnion Kelly does his best to cover both posh and working class. He is a man of the people.

Surely the whole point of being a good actor is to convince the viewer of their character regardless of their background in real life, and is the posh type you're referring to Rose's character played by Geraldine Plunkett? who i agree is not too convincing in her role with her accent and maybe because she was so well known for her role in Glenroe and her character there but i don't agree with you making assumptions based on someone's background if you're a good actor you're good regardless , I'm sure Al Pacino wasn't really a gangster

Really? I would have classed Charlotte as working class in real life, maybe shes a very good actress then! I presume Paul is supposed to be working class, a self-made success? He certainly was rough and ready when he started into it. Nicola is blatant posh but then again you need a mix so you don't mind some posh but it is annoying when they cast middle and upper class background people to play working class characters. Its a common theme in Irish tv/film though, its as if directors are terrified on taking a chance on an up and coming new face so they cast the same old Gleesons, Farrells, Hubermans and Cunninghams.
