    Is there any standard required while purchasing home security systems. Do we need any certfied engineer to fix the system to get insurance coverage.

    Only a registered and insured installer can carry out work.

    It must be correctly fitted and working for insurance.

    EN50131 is the standard that is necessary.

    All equipment has to conform with this standard, I just looked at your links, I was unable to open the first one but check the compliance standards on the second one as it appears to be American and they have their own standards, they may not necessarily comply with European ones.

    It is an installer who will certify the system, but there is a paper trail which must be carried out.
    Your best bet is to have a look at the PSA register online, pick out 3 registered installers and get quotations from them in writing.
