Ya a few dodgy ones have been out there, but they seem to have disappeared. Friend won a '16 318d on this site last year. Lovely car. What I've seen of this crowd are legit along with FDR in Donegal. But up to everyone to make there own decisions..

Stupid question here, but it's 25 to enter or free if you send a postcard to Newry?

Yes, part of the uk / NI law that allows these comps mean you have to offer free entry by post. But if tickets are sold out beforehand then they legally don’t have to give you free entry.

I believe that’s one video from a small pop up company following the first lock down. I don’t think there’s “videos” doing the rounds which implies there’s loads of scams.

There’s a big thread in the General Motors run about them and there’s a few that appear to be legit such as elite, RKings amongst others.

You still talking about that cannibalised Model 3 SR+ or that facelift Model S you posted? I presume the latter. It's still for sale at €44.6k now. Not sure if that's a bargain. I guess all Model S in this country have just gained a few grand in value today seeing as there are very few over here (how many?) and importing one now attracts 21% VAT plus a few shekels in VRT...

I was never talking about the Model 3. Only about the facelift Model S. Also I didn't say it was a bargain. I said it might be a bargain in 10 days time if the price keeps dropping. We need to reset what we call a bargain now that we can't import from the UK anymore. It's 2016 but has a full warranty to 2024 and a battery/drivetrain warranty to 2027. That's worth a few k in my book.

But more importantly, as Old Diesel said, nice to see Tesla Sandyford finally doing Used (not CPO anymore).

If this is fully functioning it’s a bargain.

Not sure I’d buy it unseen though it’s a big expensive paperweight if faulty.

Who said Tesla bargains wouldn't be a thing in 2021‽

Remind me again what's the difference between Tesla used and CPO? Is CPO a repaired vehicle or something?

    Might help a little.

Say, two years ago Tesla CPO was off the charts in terms of value and cover, it has been slowly reduced, now they offer little more than typical used car warranty

My stuff for sale on Adverts inc. EDDI, hot water cylinder, roof rails...

It's decent value, but the "sold as seen" and "bought at auction" don't sit well with me

And it looks good, but there is nothing special about the Tesla wall charger

But it would be a Tesla paperweight! You could then tell everyone that they too should have a Tesla paperweight. :D

Is this a Type 2 charger, could it be used with most other types of EV or just Tesla?

Type 2. Should work with all cars once switched to allow it.

The problem with these Tesla chargers is that they are known to be troublesome.
Of all the chargers in the Tesla group, the oem Tesla one is the most talked about when theres a problem.

It’s a god deal if you get it for the €175 plus courier ;) but they are not without their problems.

They generally sell out in under 2 days (sometimes in hours)on rkings so I doubt theyve ever had to give a free entry.
Sometimes (eg today for the tesla) there's a few tickets left but they run the draw anyway rather than having to wait a day and allow free entries for such an expensive item

PS: I bought 2 tickets for the Tesla. Not sure what Id do with it if I won! His and hers teslas I suppose!

Yeah I only enter the odd one here and there. The Tesla deffo tickled my fancy so I bought a ticket.

If I won it, I’d sell my own as the P85D would be an upgrade to my P85+

Presumably you'd have to pay 33% CAT of the value if you won a free car? Or does the lottery company pay that for you?

I wouldn't spend a cent on any of these lotteries. The payout percentage is shockingly low. If you want to gamble in a more cost effective way, just go into a casino and put €50 on your favourite number on the roulette table. Payout percentage > 95%

There is a thread on this gambling service here:

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin//showthread.php?t=2058066477

Lots of potential downsides if you win a prize. Suggestions you should declare it as income to revenue, (the lotto is tax free), possible vat, import costs, insurance issues depending on your quotes.

Sometimes similar services are not clear on the odds of winning, so it can be hard to estimate risk/reward.
Its a bit off topic for EVs. There is also concern if cars are registered as English vs Northern Ireland as the rules are now different post brexit. Gambler beware.

No, its tax free, similar to other games of chance.

Probably a sound investment if you put it away or just use sparingly / carefully. Looks mint and ultra low miles. That car will one day be worth a million quid.

Might be worth a punt for those interested. Eco cars Athlone had it for sale at 36k earlier in the year. Note it's the Executive edition. No idea about AP or any extras.

For the record , went for €30,200

Lot of range for the money. Private seller too, so a good deal might be had for a serious buyer who can do a quick deal here.

That's perfect use of a 64kWh Korean car - 75,000km in 2 years, one of which with a pandemic/lockdowns etc.

    I reckon it cost the owner 12c/km for everything, depreciation (€36k - €29k), electricity (7c/kWh night rate @ 14kWh/100km), tax (€120 x 2), servicing & insurance (€400 x 2).

Will have cost them less than a 10 year old diesel.

I think our Ioniq 28 (50k km in 12 months) worked out far less than that again - TCO was maybe around 9/10c/km.
